STANFORD SKI, CHALET ROND POINT Just returned from a terrific ski holiday with Stanford Ski, 11 days from 21st January 2019. ACCOMMODATION -Excellent for self-described 2 star chalet hotel. All rooms have en suite facilities and good sized radiators. The whole chalet was comfortably warm at all times and there was no need to light the log fire. Beds were very comfortable. FOOD - what a star they have in, Mario, the ever smiling happy chef. He produced meals of the highest standard every day. LOCATION - almost perfect! The free navette bus to Jaillet leaves from the front door. The navette for Mt Arbois and for Rochebrune leaves from across the road 30 yards away! So no need to lug skis halfway across town. In the evening the main town of Megève was five minutes stroll away. CHALET MANAGEMENT- In Stewart and Helen we couldn’t have been better served. They worked tirelessly and were always helpful and knowledgeable about the skiing conditions; being BASI qualified ski instructors was a bonus for us. A very pleasant couple. It was also good to meet Rory, the manager of all Stanford’s accommodation, on several occasions. GENEVA TRANSFER - Only an hour and a quarter in their own mini-buses door to door. Thanks Stewart and Olivia. CHALET STAFF- Olivia, Matt, Charlie, and Jude were all very genial and worked very hard. They clearly enjoyed working as chalet staff, not always the case in some other organisation’s chalets! SKI AREA – suited us perfectly. We’ve been coming to this area for six years on the trot. First time with Stanford, and definitely not the last. Snow conditions were outstanding, so that really was an extra bonus; powder everywhere on empty pistes. More info on the Megève website.
