Amazing accommodations that you will not match in la Penita or Guyabitos. Especially for the more than affordable price. Hosts are kind and thoughtful, but stay out of the way of guests although we all live in the same building. Multiple apartments from ground floor up, beautiful lounge area and pool (if a bit chilly as it is NOT heated). If you have a car there is no issue. If you want to take cabs everywhere there is no issue. If you are fit and don't mind the steep steep hill up from the town there is no issue. I wouldn't recommend hiking back up after dark - spring for the 50 pesos cab. And don't try that walk in any kind of heel - even flip-flops are risky.
