Remera Modern Guesthouse

I stayed here the night before the Kigali Marathon. It was a perfect fit. It is about a 10 minute walk to Amahoro Stadium, where the marathon started & ended. However, the guesthouse was very difficult to find. The taxi driver could not find it, so I got out at Amahoro Stadium & asked dozens of people, none of whom had ever heard of it. I tried calling the guest house, but the phone number on their email was the wrong number. However, once you know where the guesthouse is, it is easy to find & very convenient to the stadium - a steep uphill walk on a rutted dirt road filled with lots of shops and friendly people. The road leads right into the stadium. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are comfortable with very nice mosquito nets. Our room had a desk & one chair, two double beds, one pair of flip-flops, commodious closet space. It was right across the hall to our private bathroom, which had hot water and soap in the shower. The sheets and light comforter were clean & nice. The staff was very pleasant & accommodating. They accommodated me for the marathon by making me an extra early breakfast of omelette with green pepper, bread and coffee. Breakfast is included in the price. Also, they allowed me an extra late checkout time so I could keep my things at the guesthouse, finish the race, return to the guesthouse and shower. The bathroom was clean. There is a communal living room with comfortable couches, where breakfast is taken. This was the perfect place to stay for the marathon.
