Radisson Blu Resort, Arc 1950

We have just returned from spending February Half Term (myself, husband and two kids - aged 8 & 6) at the Radisson Blu Village in Les Arcs 1950. This was our first family ski holiday and we were very impressed with the accommodation: the setting is beautiful, very picturesque and peaceful. The ability to ski-in and out is only useful if you can already ski - this was the first time my children had skied therefore they (and consequently, we) weren’t able to take advantage of this feature. The village is a short cable-car ride from Arc 2000 where all the ski lesson groups meet - so if (when) we go back , we will look to stay in 2000 until the kids no longer need lessons as it was a minor hassle every morning carrying the kids ski gear up to the meeting point. 1950 Village itself had everything we needed and provided some form of late afternoon entertainment each day: hot chocolate & toasting marshmallows on the Monday, an aerial show on the Wednesday, fireworks on the Thursday etc - lots to see and do. The supermarket had everything we needed to self cater on the days that we chose-to. The restaurants were fine but busy so advance booking is essential. The apartment itself was great - very spacious with lots of storage space, comfy beds, great showers and more towels than we needed. The ski lockers on the ground floor were great - well-maintained with space for everything. The transfer from Chambray airport was supposed to take 2 hours but due to ‘half term’ / peak traffic it took us almost 5 hours - which we wish the Inghams rep had warned us of so we could have bought some food & drinks for the journey (there was a snack bar at the airport for anyone wanting to do this). We hired our gear from Precision ski in the village - all arranged through Inghams - great service from lovely, super efficient staff. Ski lessons also arranged through Inghams - instructors (both the kids and mine) were fantastic. There are plenty lovely blue runs, great for beginners and those (like me) who haven’t skied for years and lack confidence. My kids said this was the ‘best holiday ever’ and we can’t wait to go back to Les Arcs.
