Very comfortable bed with good quality bedding .Very  friendy staff . Pet allowed . Excellent food . Fab all round at a reasonable price

Great stay, eady parking, comfy bed and lovely service and breakfast.

Alongside the A1 but you would never know, so quiet. Convenient back road into Bamburgh and loveky view across farmland.Breakfast was excellent cereals, fruit juice, toast and jams. 2 sausages, 2 bacon, beans, hash browns and choice of how your eggs cooked. Also ate in the restaurant and cafe both excellent. Room  was clean, tea coffee and good shower.Stayed four nights, couldn't fault it. Staff really nice.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Decent 24hr food was great! Tesla charging was very convenient. Great for sight seeing multiple areas. Bedsheets were clean. Highly recommend, good value for money.

Value for money. Yes it’s on the A1 but don’t let that bother you. Inside you can’t hear a thing and all bedrooms are on the opposite side and overlooking the fields to Banburgh Castle and the frame isles lighthouse. The property is in a convenient position to get to many places. Such as the Castle, Holy island, Seahouses and Berwick on Tweed. Good is excellent and the staff are great and friendly. Thanks

Purdy is great for an overnight. Nice food. Only slight negative was the TV in room didn’t tune to show anything, but had good WiFi so we just streamed. In fairness never asked for a fix.

Purdy Lodge is in the perfect location for visiting Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses, Alnwick and Edinburgh.The food is excellent. I thoroughly recommend the burger! Breakfast is lovely. Everything seems to be freshly prepared and cooked.The staff are really lovely and friendly. Always a nice smile and welcome.My son and I stayed here during February, half-term week. The room was clean, beds comfy, lovely view, tonnes of hot water.We will certainly stay here again :-)Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Extramly easy and comfortable, perfect for a stay in the area. Good food, friendly service and quiet bedroom with lovely view across fields with the coast in the distance. Excellent value.

Excellent Place!

Couldn't fault this hotel in any way. Had a pint of Estrella when I got there and probably the best pint I've had in a long time The room was very clean and comfortable.Wemt down for breakfast at the time booked and was served promptly. Breakfast was excellent although I didn't eat very much as I felt unwell but everything was well cooked and the quality was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will more than likely stay again as I visit the area quite often

Great value

The back road is a worm hole in space time connecting Bebbanberg with Paris, Texas. Purdy Lodge is lying low and as you crackle along the gravel through the truck-stop it would be no surprise to see Travis squinting into the low winter sun as he shambles past the all night gas station into the drug store to get some ice. Purdy has it sussed. Rooms are for sleeping so they are full of bed. The window looks out over  freshly stubbled fields at a pink and blue horizon. The bar is flanked by tall stools lined up to ease the drinking load. The grill does what it says to perfection with steak that would honour a Texas diner in taste if not size. Thoughtfully, the TV tells you that its antenna is pointing the wrong way but you’ve come here to get away - so fire up the Wii-fi. Breakfast is ample fuel for the day and you can slide straight on to the A19 which has been conveniently laid just outside the front door. Purdy Lodge is a Northumberland gem.

Food and Staff are always amazing, rooms are basic but really clean and the soap smells lovely. Shower isn’t great it barely showers you but had a lovely bath and there was more than enough hot water. Meal at night was fabulous and the choice at breakfast is great and good bread for toast. Thanks to the ladies for another great stay

I travelled up from London and needed somewhere to stay close to Bamburgh castle. I booked Purdy Lodge. It was close to everywhere I wanted to visit. The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with lovely views of the countryside and Bamburgh castle. The food in the restaurant was amazing. I have no complaints at all with my stay at Purdy Lodge and will definitely stay again the next time I come to Bamburgh.

For us most importantly dog friendly. Very good and easy having them with us great idea to have extra door at exit so you don't have to navigate reception bar each time. Food was good.Very convenient on A1 to get out and about, amazed that you don't hear traffic hardly ever.aldo great duvet, no crackling like most hotels.Only downside no water pressure in room so shower was Naff took forever to wash shampoo out. And my bed older and very creaky but other one fine. All in all was good 🙂

This was a good value hotel with pleasant staff & a good cooked breakfast included in the price. We knew when we booked it that there was nothing walkable nearby & that wasn’t a problem. We visited Cragside, Amble, Seahouses & Druridge Bay   other places. Close proximity to A1 but didn’t hear any road noise. Lovely views over open fields from the bedroom with the sea & Bamburgh castle in the distance. Rooms were clean & had everything we needed. Stayed 2 nights & were very happy with our stay overall.

This place is ideally located for Bamburgh Castle and the Northumberland coast. From the moment we checked in the staff could not have been more helpful. I was worried about the roadside location but the room faced away from the road and there was no noise, just a beautiful view across the farmland to the castle. The room was very clean with a king size bed and heating you have full control over. Breakfast was cooked to order and veggie was available The only reason I have given 4 stars is that we usually prefer a more characterful place and this is a built for purpose property
