Bungalow is a bit outdated but good enough. Location is great and the food even better. Big thumbs up for the chefs! Best hotel food in STP for us.

Good location and food!

Right next to a (most of the time) rough beach, but perfect for beach lovers since you are really close to the ocean an can hear the waves crashing on the beach day and night. Rooms are nice, bathrooms would be so much better with shower curtains.... Food is served as buffet and is varied, lots of fruit, fish, stews, something for everybody. Staff is friendly, they even replaced the missing hammock in between one day, which made our stay even more relaxing. Nothing beats lying in that hammock, reading a book and listening to the ocean! The only drawback was the boat trip to the Equator (Isle de Rolas). On the way back they dangerously overloaded the tiny boat with 9 adult people and we all felt totally unsafe.

Perfect (rough) beach get away

We had a great stay at Inhame.After a rather scary drive down south through fog, rain, potholes wet palm plantations at dusk, the lodge’s sign of entering a stress-free zone was only too welcome. Rides to the Ilha Rolas and the walk to Praia Vanha arranged easily. Rhe breakfast excellent and all very clean.

I’ve been 14 days in S. Tomé e Príncipe and this was the worst accommodation I’ve been when it was the most expensive…
They booked me a bungalow with dozens (to don’t say hundreds) of bats living above the ceiling… The noise of the bats wasn’t the worse.. The worse were the fezes falling from the roof to my bed, bathroom, etc.
I slept in the room in the first night because I arrived too late to understand what was that.
At 08:00 of first morning I complained immediately to the receptionist and nothing was done until 17:00, when I was told that they were fully booked and didn’t have where to accommodate us. They cleaned the room and told us that believed that nothing was going to fall from the ceiling… When we arrived after dinner the bed was already full of bat fezes… (we have pictures of everything..) We had to sleep the second night in the car because it was impossible to sleep in that bungalow.. They didn’t even try to get us another place to sleep… There are accommodations around but they simply don’t care about their clients.. (and I wouldn’t mind to pay of course)
Last day morning I went to the reception to pay my expenses. The customer service continued to impress.. they wanted me to pay the full 2 nights with a discount of 50€.. They rented a bungalow that mustn’t ever have been rented and that was a public health hazard and I still had to pay the nights… Just a joke… I refused to pay and had to spend 45min of my time explaining them why I wasn’t going to pay…
Beyond all of this asking 15€ for a super poor breakfast (considering the price) is stealing… 
The location is just amazing and it’s a must visit! However, just stay somewhere else and go there for the beach and leave

My worst experience in São Tomé e Príncipe during my 14 days stay

I took a scuba dive vacation to the islands of Sao Tome and Principe in Oct 2022. I was recommended Praia Inhame Eco Lodge as a base for my dives into the South Atlantic and I am glad I took the advice. The eco lodge is beautifully nestled  between the sea and the mountains covered with dense tropical forests. It is cut off from the rest of the world which makes for the perfect getaway. The staff are friendly and always helpful- they made sure I picked up some Portuguese words. They have sufficient knowledge of other local tours and can help arrange transport too. 
One can take their pick with how they want to spend their day- snorkeling, exploring the islands and those nearby, sunbathing on the virgin beaches, savouring the local cuisine, hiking or take a boat trip into the mangroves. 
It makes for a dream holiday.

Pristine and in the lap of nature

As recent reviews, the bungalows are basic but adquate and are kept very clean. The temperature of the shower depends on how much sunshine the solar panels get and for us this was no warmer than tepid. The very small sink only has cold water and no plug! No drinking water is provided in the rooms although you can get it free at the bar (and temporarily acquire glasseswhich also aren't in the room). Whilst it is badged as an Eco resort it seems to be a bit on the cheap side and as mentioned, when the evening meal "bell" is rung, there is a bit of a scrum for the food. If you don't like fish, octopus or chicken you will struggle with the food. Drink is good with beer and wine at a reasonable price but there is smoking in the restaurant when you are eating.. Very little English is spoken with some of the staff being a bit grumpy about our lack of Portugese but nothing untoward.
On a more positive note, this seems to be the best lodge to stay at as I had a walk to see Gombela and Jale lodges. It is certainly the best if you want to go to Ilheu das Rolas as the boats go from just outside the restaurant.

Good base to explore the south.
There was a bit confusion with staff which wasn't really helpful to arrange tours.
Also on checkout we had to wait 30minutes to find somebody to man the reception.
The family room we had was a bit dated and VERY hot.

My husband and I visited Praia Inhame Eco Lodge for a couple of nights and enjoyed our stay overall. The bungalows are relatively basic but very comfortable with nice balconies and, crucially, lazy hammocks! The grounds and beach were very well kept and the view overlooking the sea and Rolas Island is beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful during our stay and it was no problem to organise trips through the eco lodge upon our arrival. 

The only downside were the breakfast and evening buffet, the latter of which felt overpriced. On our second night we had the option of the a la carte menu though; the food was much nicer and better value for money this way. It would be great to have that option available as well as the buffet on every night. 

As many other reviewers have alluded to, the road to the lodge is in very poor condition. However, this reflects the condition of road infrastructure across the island and thus we feel it is not something that can be used to critique the lodge. You just need to leave enough time to get there before dark!

Pleasant stay in beautiful location

As a way to get out of the capital and explore the south of Sao Tome this was a great place for our family to stay. Lovely beach, very friendly atmosphere and affordable wine! Highlights were the trip out to Islas Dos Rocos, straight from the hotel with one of the waiters as a guide. Fantastic. Walking up the hill behind the hotel - but especially the Mangrove canoe trip to see the monkeys. 
Individual wooden chalets and communal times for meals. Really friendly people.  
Hot tips
1) Arrive at meals on time - as there is a finite amount and it can run out if there is a large group (especially if they have many helpings)
2) Try and avoid a chalet next to where the cars park - dented the ambience a little. 
3) Need to like eating octopus if having lunch there a lot. Dinner more varied.

The best place to say in the south of Sao Tome

Beautiful beach and  certainly one of the best I have seen on the island which is kept clean by the staff. Accommodation is adequate however there was no hot water despite the set timings set out by the staff. There are no set prices advertised for drinks and the food is a set buffet be it breakfast lunch or dinner which to be brutal was poor despite the average to poor ratings by other fellow punters. Often there was not enough food to go around however given the quality that was no bad thing. Beer prices were 50% more than elsewhere on the island with additional "tourist tax" being added upon check out which clearly lined pockets.
