Patuha Resort Kawah Putih

Stopped to check this out as it is close to the crater Late "The White Creature". Spectacular views and interesting buildings, but rooms very basic and the thermal swimming pool was empty, so that was not good. But it was 2/3 way through Ramadan so the resort was very quiet. The very basic rooms with no real views are about $75 a night, while the family villa units go for about $125 and would be better value. Sure to be crowded at the end of Ramadan.

Very helpfu front desk staff but not much English.

If you do book make sure all the amenities are working, such as the pool and restaurant.

Nice location, rooms a bit basic

The hotel is located on the right side of the road before Kawah Putih gateway. The reception is about 2-3 hundreds meters from the gate and you will find an amazing view along the entrance.
The room is all wooden made, with classic furnitures completed with hot water shower.
They provide amenities such toiletries, water kettle and glasses, sandals and towels.
They deliver nasi goreng as breakfast to every room.
The hotel has a swimming pool with natural warm water and a pool table you can play.

Chill convention among the mist

We arrived at the 3rd of June and had been booked a room for three for one night. Our first impression of the place was actually pretty good,  we felt that the air was quite cold but perfect. The exterior of the hotel was also nice, they had a little waterfall and a view overlooking the mountains. The houses looked nice as well,  the wooden walls looked splendid and I thought that it gave a cozy feeling. They also had a pool which wasn't very clean and a meeting room which had the opposite traits of the pool. When we arrived, we were told that the keys were already on the keyhole and to directly go to the room which was Kelana Rimba 1. Upon arriving at the room, we unexpectedly found out that the key was in fact, not there. We then asked a man who was sporting the resort's uniform where the key was, and he pointed out that the key was with a man in an orange sweatshirt. We then found this orange sweatshirt man, and he gave us the key which was lazily stuck on a piece of acrylic plastic. We then entered the room,  which smelled of something but we couldn't work out what it was. The TV, while available, had terrible connection and only had 4 channels. I tried to fix it by adjusting the cable behind it, but later found out that the cable was already broken. There was an electric kettle and two free bottles of water, but I was surprised to find that they didn't offer any tea. So, I didn't think that it was imperative to use the kettle. I then took a shower, and found out that the hot water only works for some time, and after that it needs to reheat for about 1 hour. I thought this was fine, since we were in quite a rural area. I then went to bed,  but had to clean it (there were bits of little insects and some other things like dust). We also saw a gecko that was larger than about a grown man's hand. Another problem was the walls were so thin that we could hear random chattering from neighboring rooms. Honestly, I think that the hotel needs a total make over and a change in the management, which is currently run by the state-owned forestry firm, Perhutani. I wish to see this hotel in better shape soon, as I think this is the better of the other hotels near the Kawah Putih area.

Nice atmosphere, but overpriced and highly unprofessional

This old accomodation is owned by Perhutani, located in its own plantation. Old style room and facilities. There is an hot spring pool, actually warm, but dirty. I suggest to treat the water that is coming from mountain before filled into the pool.
