Okinawa Guest House

I stayed at this guest house for a few days when i arrived and came back before to leave. Nice people, clean, quiet place, you feel welcome. Breakfast (big) included. I had a single bed/bathroom and the price is ok.

We have stayed there 7 times and it is always nice to return. Being one of the first bunch of guest houses before they popped up like mushrooms 2 years ago Okinawa is a lovely place. Rooms are basic but have a fan or A/C. The bathrooms could use a bit of a treat though and the wifi could be faster / working in all areas. Breakfast is included in the price, varies every day and is being served on the tables in front of the guest house so you can watch the atmosphere around 32nd street. Sule Pagoda is 2 mins walk.

Great place to stay for a couple of nights in yangon. Budget but excellent location and good place to meet fellow travellers. Park right next door and some good bars! Close to train and bus station which is always convenient!

FAMILY ATMOSPHERE IN THE CORE OF TOWN.

Reasonable price and great location

The property is run by kids who prefer to play around instead of running a guesthouse. Bathroom was disgusting and bed was dirt and full of stains - I asked for clean sheets but all linnen was dirty so i picked in the end the ones which were least dirty. :-(
Absolutely not worth it’s money! If you are willing to spend this much money on a guesthouse there are much better options.


Dirty and unfriendly

Initially booked for two nights. On arrival the room was very dirty; cockroaches (dead), stains, dirt. When asking for a new room, this was not possible, they said this was the last available room,..which later turned out it was absolutely not.
Then the door lock was broken, after an hour waiting it was repaired by putting a padlock on the outside. So the room couldn’t be locked from the inside. Bed: again dirty: mud stains (i think they were) and even dried blood stains on sheet and sheet cover, when asking for new one they took a used one from other room. Again dirty, did not accept and asked for new one. Now one was given from ‘clean’ pile. Even this supposed to be clean one was dirty.
Bathroom: not surprisingly dirty again, it hasn’t been cleaned for months (or even ever?) and no hot water, not any room has hot water. This was not mentioned on any booking website. Staff: this guesthouse looks like being run by children, who prefer to play around instead of running a guesthouse. Next early morning we moved somewhere else.
