O'Grady's Guest Accommodation

Stayed in this house recently for a week with family. I couldn’t fault it if I tried. Perfectly located. Stunning views. A very clean house with everything you could possibly need and more! Beds were very comfortable. A lovely big relaxing sitting room. A well equipped kitchen. Being right across the road from the beach is great when you have kids. The pier is a very short walk away as well as the community centre and the restaurant. The owner, Helen, was always just a text message away should you need anything. A very friendly and helpful person. We didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend this house and we will definitely be back.

We've just arrived back from a week stay in O'Grady's house rental on Clare Island. We had the best time. The house is fabulous. It's spacious, clean and has everything you could possibly need. Location is just perfect - right across the road from the beach and a short walk to the pier, the community centre and restaurant. It's a perfect place to stay with kids, being so close to the beach. Helen is a fabulous host too, she was on hand to offer advice on things to do, drop bags to the pier and offering lifts in the rain. We didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back.

Located just a minutes walk from the Pier this beautiful B&B is of very high standard and the host has a great knowledge of the island and its history. The view from the bedrooms is fabulous and you will be awaken by the sound of the Atlantic.

Absolutely stunning location O'Grady's is such a beautiful place to stay, the room was very large and spotlessly clean.  We had a seaview which was stunning.  The breakfasts were substantial and Helen really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble.  Irish hospitality at it's very best.  Many thanks Helen/O'Grady's. We booked 3 rooms here for a family get away. From the first point of booking Helen has been a pleasure to deal with. We arrived off the boat to a warm welcome from Helen who shared a wealth of information with us about where to go & what to do. We had 3 fabulous rooms all beside each other which was great. Lovely, spacious & clean with everything we would expect from a nice hotel. All rooms en-suite. Tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms, TV’s & WiFi (not that you’d need them on that fabulous island!) 
Breakfast was top notch. 2 of us are vegetarian & 1 a vegan but this was no trouble for Helen. 
Would highly recommended this b&b. 

On the way home from a fabulous weekend on Clare Island with my husband.  This visit was made even more special by the care, friendliness and hospitality shown by Helen in O'Grady's b&b.  Helen always had a smile and took interest and great care of her guests.  The room and ensuite were very spacious and comfortable.  Breakfast was delicious.  Felt right at home here and thoroughly enjoyed taking in the beautiful scenery and great banter with the locals.  Can't recommend O'Gradys b&b enough and especially look forward to returning here soon.

Short walk from the ferry. Friendly welcome in by the lovely owner Helen who provided us with all we needed to know about the Island. Even though we were early for check-in, they had the room ready - which was immaculate, spacious and warm.
Delicious home cooked Irish breakfast eaten whilst looking out over the beach.  Chilled out lounge area with board games to relax.  Helen is very accommodating and will do anything at all to help - even letting us check out later than the supposed time. Could not recommend this place enough! Will definitely be back to Clare Island and to O'Grady's!

Stayed two nights in this lovely BnB. Everything was top notch ! Spotless & spacious bedrooms, plentiful breakfasts and a very accommodating and generous host Helen !  Your gorgeous scones sustained us on our walk . Will definitely recommend. Thank you !


Have been to Clare island for work a few times  and alway stay with Helen.On our last visit which was last week we phoned ahead and were told to call in after we got of the ferry to get our keys.Helen had breakfast on the table for both my colleague and myself.Where in the world  would you get hospitality like this.Rooms are spotless and nothing is too much trouble.Breakfast again following morning which are just devine and Newport’s finest on the plate. Can’t wait to go back.5 star service for 2 star prices.

Easy walk to ferry, and great location to explore this beautiful and uncrowded island.  We had fabulous weather for hiking up the mountain, and enjoyed relaxing at this lovely guesthouse, both in the room and in the sitting area.  They even have a picnic table in front where we enjoyed (our own) cocktails.

Room was spacious with one king and one twin, and was perfectly clean and comfortable.  My room upstairs had a bathtub (not all do) which was great to soak after a long hike.  (Be forewarned - Not much hot water pressure at night). 

Breakfast was more than adequate, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner as well.  In short, all was excellent, and would definitely stay here again.

O'Grady's Clare Island

Highly recommend 

Stayed a night recently on Clare Island arriving in heavy rain and departing in heavy rain. But during the time got a great visit to the Abbey and lunch and dinner on the Island . Stayed in O’Grady’s B&B , our host Helen was excellent and very welcoming and I have no problem in recommending this place for a stay over. Nice and clean room and a great Irish breakfast in the morning. Well worth a visit and good value also.
