Chez Odette Is a lovely little place set in an idyllic hamlet on the French / Belgium border. We had a really pretty room in the annex across the road from the hotel .white floorboards and a pure white artistic decor , a roll top bath I the light and airy bathroom,made for a relaxed romantic stay!
The restaurant was excellent with very friendly staff and the breakfast delicious with beautiful homemade conserves and creamy scrambled eggs made to order . We loved our stay !

If you are reading these reviews, then you must be thinking of staying at Chez Odette. Quite simply, book now. 
So many highlights from our trip, but this place is an absolute standout. The setting (3rd smallest town in France I believe), the staff and their service, and then there's the food!
Our plan was to have dinner at the hotel on our first night and venture into Florenville the next. We had just come from Paris and dined at L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon, which was outstanding on many levels. We did however enjoy our meals, on both nights, here more.
The two young lads learning their trade (and our language) were outstanding. So eager to please. I think they are in good hands because their boss sure knows his stuff. From the slivers of cucumber in the Hendricks and tonic, to arranging our late lunch and even an early breakfast, 5 star hospitality plus. We even asked to thank the chef in person. Sheepishly, he came out so we could. Fantastic.
We walked through the forrest (about an hour) to Orval and the Trappist Monastery, brewery and chess factory. What a great way to spend half a day. The lunch there wasn't too shabby either.
Our room was comfortable and well appointed, thus ticking all the boxes.
So much more to tell and I could elaborate on everything. Truly, you need to visit here and enjoy what Chez Odette has to offer.

We had the most incredible experience at Chez Odette. The staff were so sweet and attentive. 

Our meal was second to none, with so many incredible local options from the cheese to the wine and beer. The pasta dish on the menu is a "must'. The marrow and frogs legs were also very special. 

Breakfast was truly an experience with fresh squeezed juices, freshly baked croissants, pain any chocolate, breads, preserves ... The list goes on. We truly felt spoiled. We had a very early departure, and the chef and kitchen staff all arrived well before 7:00am to bake and prepare our meal. 

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a wonderful boutique hotel with fresh, local and delicious cuisine.

My husband and I very much needed a weekend away to reconnect and we found it in the charming staff of Chez Odette and it's beautiful surroundings. We arrived with a little bit of work to wrap up on a Friday afternoon, then took a moderately challenging ride through the woods using the hotel's mountain bikes. Back to take a really relaxing spa-like bath before dining at the hotel's restaurant. You MUST eat at the restaurant for dinner at least once during your stay. Dinner was rich, I had the best prepared beef and the best red fruit crumble for dessert. The manager recommended a few choices available by the glass, opened up a fresh bottle, and was very generous in his pour. 

We slept later than planned (a tribute to the very comfortable bed and lovely linens) and indulged in breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast is on the expensive side (I think 19EUR), but EXTREMELY plentiful and delicious. I've never had fresher croissants as the chef pulled them directly out of the over and onto my plate. 

We spent the day roaming around the nearby Trappist Monastery. When we returned for a relax, it was bright and sunny and I sat in a chair to catch some of it. The very attentive manager saw what I was trying to do and created an impromptu lounge area with throws and pillows for a little sunny lie down. It were these constant attentive touches that both surprised and delighted us the whole weekend.

Finally, the next morning, intent on a quick 1 hour mountain bike ride before getting back to reality, we told the staff as we walked past the gorgeous breakfast spread and said we'd be having breakfast again (this time with the other hotel guests). On the ride, we got (fantastically) lost so we ended up back at the hotel as breakfast was finishing and the staff was cleaning up and preparing for their own lunch. "We tried to wait for you, but thought you'd found somewhere else!" they exclaimed as they started to reverse clean up and create a personalized breakfast buffet just for us. 

They even let us watch the world cup matches in the swanky lounge that usually plays black and white movies.

What a great weekend. Thank you so much to the staff for making our stay JUST what we needed.

Perfect getaway for food, relaxation, mountain biking!

Incredible French Countryside Experience

On the surface a nicely put together hotel, in beautiful countryside and with stunning food. 
The problems we had were that wifi was advertised as free inclusive,  however over our 3 day stay we were told it was very on off amd often don't work. This meant that we couldn't access it at any point dirigible our stay and no effort was made to resolve the issue.
 The rooms are exceptionally dark, which is the point of the decor but there should be a few more options to turn on lights in order to be able to find your clothes!
In addition the rooms are constantly very warm.

As stated this is a lovely hotel which takes dogs in all areas (I. E. In the restaurant itself which is rare), the food was exceptional,and setting very peaceful , comfortable and quiet. This could be an exceptional hotel if the few minor points above are sorted and a more willing and helpful attitude were available.
