Atlantic Club Montalivet

We flew as a family of 5 from Gatwick to Bordeaux hired a car and drove an hour to the Eurocamp we got the morning flight 610am and were in the pool before midday! This was our first Eurocamp but not our first time camping or glamping/caravanning. We were really pleased that we opted for the lodge. It was airy, big enough for a teen and two tweens. A gorgeous setting and verandas. The shared toilet /shower block was outstanding and clean and regularly maintained. We really appreciated the raised decking and seating area. We were situated in the forest, 30seconds from the toilets and 5 mins to the pool. In the heat that we had we were rather smug that we had chosen this specific accommodation based on the other that we saw. The water park was amazing. If you want a covered sunbed for shade then be prepared to Que for 30 minutes otherwise you’ll be in the sun all day or have no sunbed. The food outlets were fab, we didn’t think much of the restaurant as wished we had not gone and instead stuck with the huts. The entertainment was good for the kids with dancing and crowd participation. The sports/playground area was buzzing. My tips would be to take a shelter/umbrella for the beach. There is nothing on the beach itself but a small bar and toilets to the side. The sea is a surf sea so confident adults are fine . (Not suitable for under 12’s alone really) our confident 10 year old clung to my back the entire time, the surf is strong. There are lifeguards and flags etc.. we only went once as the kids couldn’t truly play and so preferred the pool. Also be careful leaving your shoes in the designated area at the pool as my husbands were confused and removed and then put back two days later. Best to just take them with your to your sun bed. The staff spoke English where is mattered e.g onsite medical and reception and restaurant. It’s worth popping to Montalivet for the small parade shops but this was way for us with a car. The kids want to go back (age 13,8,10) we will likely return but I may look for a Eurocamp with a more friendly sea.
