As a family of four I really can’t fault the campsite - you know what to expect and it delivered. The outdoor pool is large and with good area round for sunbathing - no sun loungers but that could be down to COVID I suspect. Indoor pool is great for kids with the 4 slides for them to enjoy, and an outdoor area for adults to enjoy the sun in sight of the pool. Being brits - the kids do sometimes need to change from our usual queuing ways and get their elbows out but anyone that’s been to France knows that French and British have very different cultures when it comes to waiting In line!! We stayed in one of the statics/lodge so couldn’t say about the shower blocks but location to la tranche is great, and to all the beautiful beaches up and down the coast if like us you like to mix it up between pool and seaside. Also within an hour of La Rochelle and the aquarium means a day out there is little problem. The on-site restaurant we used once for pizza and chips and were not disappointed. Generally - we’ve had a perfect holiday, just lacking some more brits for the kids to play with, maybe we need to teach them more French! Really enjoyed our stay, will be back next year for sure.

Welcome relief from UK COVID

We were booked here for 5 nights and only lasted two. Only  one toilet block for the whole site was open - apparently this was due to covid - which is rediculous! Surely forcing everyone to use the same space is worse? It was also very very dirty. Locks broken, no toilet seats, and absoloutly NO soap?!?! The site says it is quiet from 11pm-7am but then on the site they advertise a disco 3 nights a week 9pm-12am...which infact isnt true, it finished more like 1am. Very noisy everywhere, not just rowdy holiday makers, the main road is very busy and the pitches are so close together you can even here normal volume chit chat ALL the time. Oh, did i mention that there was only 1 working water tap for the whole site too? The pool is small and in disrepair, and they inforce the speedos only rule. The barriers to the site are broken and everytime we arrived or left the site there were queues of people trying to get in and out. There is no shade on the pitches. Need i go on? Honestly this place is such a dive! We scouted around a few other sites before we left the area and there are much nicer ones, and closer to the beach too!

AVOID

To give credit, the beaches at La Tranche sur Mer are beautiful, and we've already booked a few nights there for next year, but never again at this site. We're no strangers to camping in various 'rustic' settings but this is a step too far in ignoring health and safety. Indoor pool? Make sure your polio and TB shots are up to date. Outdoor pool? Take a pickaxe to chop off the ice. Showers? Probably cleaner not showering. Washing up area? Just lick your plates: it'll do as good a job. (Make sure the previous guests have too though as we had the added bonus of dirty cutlery to greet us.) At least you can be lulled to sleep at night by the never-ending noise of traffic on the adjacent road. The sand park is filthy and the games room doesn't have the pool cues out for use: you have to ask for them at the bar which tells you all you need to know...

Fine if you want basic and don't rate hygiene as important.

We stayed in a tent that was equipped with all the neccesary things you need. At the first day we had to fill out a list of all the inventory of our tent. This list was only in a french language, we don’t speak and read french only a littlebit english. At the reception there was at that moment only one person, who spoke a littlebit english. At the restaurant you can’t pay with your banccard only cash! Very hot showers, the tempature of the water, you cannot change to colder. The camping was clean with friendly staff members!

Nice camping, but with a very crowded road nearby!

We went for 10 nights in a maxi tent. 
Tent was well equipped with mismatched items to use but enough to go round. 
Site is small, pool was supposed to open on 1/6 which my boys we eagerly waiting for but it didn’t open whilst we were there until 6/6.
WiFi is intermittent if the weather is bad.
Indoor pool is good as long as there isn’t loads of people in there.
Very French site and resort but everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful beach at La Tranche Sur Mer and parking is cheap enough... 0.30€ per 15 minutes.
2 supermarkets within 5 minutes in both directions out of the camp. There is also a U Coop in the town which is open on Sundays .
La Sierra in the town does amazing pizzas !

Cheap and Cheerful almost

Next to a busy road, which is something I expected after I looked up the location before booking.

On arrival allowed check in was efficient and English was spoken. (As my French is a joke) given a voucher for some beauty products which I though was a bit odd.

Caravan was clean and all laid out as a normal static would be. 

One bed had a loose slat which needed to be periodically put back in, because it kept shooting out of my son's bed when he sat in the wrong place.

Shower floor was rotten in places as it felt like you would put your foot through it if you really tried. Shower holder was replaced with a bit of plastic which wasn't fit for purpose.

Indoor pool was a joke and a health and safety nightmare with no supervision on the slides and no lifeguards to be seen until kicking out time. Slides where just a free for all with kids one after another and another and another throwing themselves down with no consideration for other pool users. Hair ever where in the water and it was just scruffy around the edges. 

The whole site needs a deep clean. The devil is in the detail which is letting it down

It's okay. Don't expect the world 

Not good place for families camping as mainly aimed at people with caravans or fixed homes. Pitches a bit small and ground like rubble in parts. Poor  service. Too many late night parties keeping people awake. Kids quite liked it tho
