I went with 8 family from NZ and Australia ages ranging from 11 to 60 for 3days and found the Ocean Cottage a very friendly and hospitable place to stay loved the breakfasts and the staff were awesome

Very good hosts relaxing homely cottage close to beach and cokes surf break

This guesthouse caters for and is preferred mostly by surfers and is not far from Coke Surf point. It provides surfing equipment for experienced surfers (does not have boogie boards) and takes guests on paid surfing and island excursions. 

The room (with attached bathroom) we stayed in was small but clean with AC and free wifi. The staff, especially Adhurey the manager, was very pleasant and swift to respond to our needs.  

We took our main meals outside in nearby restaurants, but enjoyed continental and traditional breakfasts at the guesthouse each morning, which had to be ordered the previous night. 

The guesthouse is a stone's throw from the beach. There is a local shop right across the street where they sell sundries. 

A Good Stay

An average guest house best for solo or bachelor groups. Got all the snorkeling and surfing equipment there with a kind manager, Adhurey. Even though I'm a Maldivian, i loved the local breakfast here, which you have to order the night before. 

Cons
If you are going with family there might be better places around for better prices. Or if you don't need much in-house relaxing, but only want to explore around; this is a fine place. 

Average 

+ Very helpful, careful and flexible staff: Ahmed Shareef was helping us all the time online, arranging ferry, and explaining other issues for us; Adhurey and Iju were so kind and careful responding to our wishes. Azura cookes very tasty :)
+ Guys were changing our towels as much as we needed, especially important if you take towels with you to the beach
+ Local breakfast is much more interesting, than continental one. Guys made a good effort to show different options almost every day. They taught us how to eat it proper way :-D
+ OC is almost at the local beach. There is nice place, kind of gazebo, where locals are chilling out and playing guitar. I had a nice time there during hot mid-day hours there.
+ Possibility to borrow stuff for snorkling
+ Close to Cokes surf point 
+ Shop in 2 meters
+ bikini beachin <5min walk

- Even though the room has windows, it is not a sea view, but inner yard. So usually we had to close windows with curtains 
- Not really a minus to OC, but there are mosquites sometimes, especially near the plants ant the beach...

Friendly Ocean Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay in Ocean Cottage! Everything was perfect! The location was good, in front of the sea, and the room was new and very clean. Guests were very friendly and helpful, helping us in arrange our transfer to and from the airport and the trips to do snorkeling and to Chicken Island. Thank you to Vidjex and his mom, an excellent chef!!! Ocean cottage is the perfect stay to enjoy the wonderful Maldivian sea! We surely recommend it to everyone who is planning to go to Maldivian island and we hope to come back soon!

Wonderful!!

Nice friendly guesthouse, recently oppened, very close to the sea (you can enjoy beautiful moon rises). Hosts are cool and arrange trips for you (thanks Vijaadh). We had a few nice snorkeling trips, and really enjoyed the trip to chicken island.

There is a bunch of guesthouses in this area where many guest tranfers are organized. One sleep there but eat his breakfast in the one next door etc. Kind of unusual, but no big deal. Can meet other guests which is cool. 

Room was good, furniture good, quiet (far from mosque), AC working fine, Wifi too. Clean. Breakfast was ok, they provide local maldivian breakfast if you like to eat lunch-like in the morning.

Possible to eat outside, otherwise they charge $12 per meal, quite standard price in the maldivian guesthouses.

Room price below average I think ($50 + tax), which makes it good value for money.

Hope they will display clearly the ferry tranfers schedule for the guests. We didn't know there was 2 kind of ferries running here, one being direct to male. Because of that we booked one night in male to secure the flight, which was not necessary if we knew all the ferry schedule information in advance.
