Nubra Ecolodge

Beautiful resort in the dreamy valley of nubra, cottages are very comfortable, services are also very good, specially Bijay was very warm and amicable towards guest.Hot water and current are also available. They grow their vegetables within the resort.

The lodge is set in one of the best surroundings, which is amidst lush green trees and close to the Shyok river. One can walk to the sand dunes from the lodge. Staff are super friendly and food was quite good. The rooms are quite comfortable with well proportioned bathrooms and an ante room. Great experience. 

My parents had stayed at Nubra Ecolodge for three nights during their stay at Nubra Valley. Saltoro suites room was having large balcony and nice view of valley. Food was nice , staff was helpful. Special thanks to Vijay and Ghanshyam at Nura Ecolodge.

Nice and cool location,great service mind, food delicious, have hot water for shower. See mountain view through window if you choose suite room. Private argricture in hotel area that look eco.

I had stayed at this beautiful property 10 years ago but still it is so fresh in my mind. I had gone to Ladakh on a solo trip and stayed at the hotel. It is  so beautiful and after 10 years of travelling I still think this was the best experience at a property. The host is so warm and the food is so amazing and prepared with so much love. Experienced my first snowfall here. It is a very beautiful property managed by really simple people.

NATURE: Snow topped hills float in front of the eyes. A river flows between the hills and resort, that adds a layer of green in between. Simply nature is at its best and a feast to the eyes. It's October 22 and temperature declares the onset of winter - I believe, it's the best time to experience greenery and snow cladded mountains together at this place. Its in the opposite side of river, in Nubra and on the road that goes to Siachen, a little bit distance but the travel is worth. 

VEGETABLES: The resort grows vegetables, it grows in front of the restaurant. The vegetables taste like heaven, literally - the low temperature, ample of sunlight and growing organically gives them a unique taste.  

SPACE: the cottages are evenly spaced, spacious inside and have a warm ambience. I liked the ample space for luggage in the rooms and the sitting arrangement in front of the room. The cottages are not cluttered or overcrowded with artificial looks. Most of the things around the eyes meet are natural, that goes very well with the nature around.   

PEOPLE: I met Mr. Stenzin and Mr. Sharma who run the show there. They talked how they adapt to the long stretch of winter, how they grow vegetables (as its not easy to get vegetable supplies in that remote place so they decided to grow themselves)...so on. It was a real pleasure talking to them. 

We stayed there as family of three during 3rd week of May 2022 and the picturesque view around and within the resort just mesmerised us. Though the place is not exactly in the main Diskit-Hunder route rather in a little diversion (approx. 9 Km from the main route) in a village call Sumur but the breathtaking views on the way really worth choosing this place. Food served were also fresh & delicious. It was really a great experience  staying there and enjoying the beauty of Nubra valley. All the staff were courteous and very helpful.

The Nubra ecolodge in Sumoor was indeed a revelation. Located in an ooen area, it is a combination of nice well appointed sapcious rooms in the main building and cottages on the premises. The view from our room and sit out on the first floor was of the well tended organice kitchen garden, the green trees and the snow clad mountains in the background. The produce at dinner was largely from the organic kitchen garden was fresh and a pleasant experience. The food was wholesome and tasty cooked freshly for every meal. However, the highlight as the warmth and courteousness of the staff and their enthusiastic response to all our requirements. I would strongly recommend the Nubra ecolodge as the perfect place to stay when visiting the Nubra valley for the wonderful ambience and the welcoming staff.

Excellent property in the nubra desert. Unmatched rustic charm. Always smiling staff - Ghanshyam & Binay and team are ever smiling and helpful and cater to everything.
Awesome selection of food freshly prepared from their own organically grown produce.
Great management team who look after this gem. 
Their hidden jewel is the Sumur sand dunes right behind te hotel (10 min walk) where one can enjoy without the crazy crowds of Hunder.
And the views from the hotel/rooms are totally calming especially early morning & late evenings. Stargazing late night is an added bonus.
Staying Takes away the stress of the long drives in Ladakh. 

Oasis in desert

If you are in Nubra, dont think you will find any better stay than Nubra Eco Lodge. The  property is amidst a beautiful valley with lovely scenic background. Our stay was comfortable and the staff was very supportive for all our needs. I would specifically like to call our Ghanshyam who was very friendly, approachable and took good care of us. Food is amazing and very homely style. The have a beautiful kitchen garden where they grow different kinds of veggies, herbs,etc
