Good hotel for the money. Clean with central location. Staff was helpful and check in and out was easy. The only fault I could find is that some of the tv in the rooms are old. I would also recommend bringing a power extender bc the power outlets are not in good spots.

This relaxed hotel is 4 minutes' walk from the bustling Bến Thành Market, and a 14-minute walk from both the iconic Warm Remnants Museum and the Romanesque Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica. 

Simple rooms offer free Wi-Fi, cable TV and sitting areas. Upgraded rooms add sofas, and suites have living areas and modern decor.

We got the Twin Deluxe for about $31/night, with breakfast. We arrived at the airport around 1AM, we requested for an airport pick-up, which was a breeze. It took us about 10mins to reach the hotel. Our check-in was very odd, upon arrival, the whole building lights was shut off, except the lobby door was open, lamps on and the receptionist was sound asleep in the couch and we had to wake him up to check-in. With no registrations to sign, he just checked our passports and actually kept them and then he gave us the keys to the room. (We found out that keeping the passports was their standard operating procedures, so no worries when they ask you to hand over yours upon check-in).

The room was clean, very spacious and accurate as advertised. The beds were comfortable. It has a huge closet to hang clothes, electronic safe, work table, sofas, coffee table and complete amenities. A/C was good and Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. TV has cable, but channels were only in Vietnamese. Shower and tub had warm water, with complete toiletries. Our room had no view though, which was fine.

The complimentary breakfast was an ala carte menu, with a short selection of vietnamese cuisine, an american platter (which was eggs, slices of vegetables and french bread) and a pasta option. Orders came with choice of milk, juice or vietnamese coffee... which was great, a no-brainer for coffee lovers. The lady who served us for two days was delightful and polite. (Tip: Their Beef Rice Noodle Soup was good! Don't miss it!)

One of the main selling points of this hotel is their location. In the neighborhood, you'll find a convenience store, a wide range of vietnamese and japanese restaurants, cafes and a sports bar (right next to the hotel). The hotel is a short walk  to Ben Thanh Street Food Market and the goods market. 10min. walk to the main tourist spots in Saigon (Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, Museums, Parks, Saigon Square, Opera House). Its also close to Vincom mall and Galaxy Cinema (we were able to catch Ready Player One for about $2/ticket on a promo day, the cinema was good too!)

I noticed that some reviews complain about the front desk staff. I also read the reviews before booking this hotel. Personally, we had a great experience with them, they were actually polite, helpful and the ladies speak good english (we were unable to communicate with the guy staff though, it took us several minutes to claim back our room key when we left it with them).

Generally, we had a good experience and got more value from what we paid for.

Comfortable and clean, great location - close to the big market, yet far enough to be quiet in the evening. Not all rooms have windows though, so if it’s important to you have a look first or specify in your booking.

Clean and quiet 

I jumped online to find the set of cheaper hotels in HCMC that were in District 1.  The location is great.  Real close to Ben Thanh market, and an ok walk to the Bui Vien Street.   It's location is great for restaurants and spas in the surrounding area as well.  The staff first seemed a little cold but once nice to them they really opened up.  It pays to be nice and always friendly.  Expect them to not bend any rules such as a third person in a room you've booked for 2 or anything like that.  Also, if you need to book an extra night, just do it online even if a new separate booking.  They cannot give you the online rate even if you show them.   

The cons:  Very old air cons need to be serviced.  In one of our 4 rooms we asked them to look at it, and that's about all that happened.  The maintenance man looked at it, then talked a lot about "that's just the way it is" until the point where we gave up.  Another one of the rooms had a very weak air con as well. It would max it to 17ºC and it would never cool down.  It even felt like the hallway was cooler.  It was blowing, it was just so old and weak and need to be recharged.  The refrigerator's power was connected to room's main power which is just off when you take the key from the room, so don't expect to keep anything cold in it.  Housekeeping was fine, except the smell of the clean towels could use a little freshness, with their little hint of moisture and mildew. 

All it all it was ok for the price of $17 to $20 a night, especially when booking multiple rooms, but I wish they would keep up the facility maintenance.
