When we arrived we were greeted by the owner herself, Johanne. She took us to a gorgeous suite with terrace overlooking the ocean. 
It was so peaceful and quiet which was just what we wanted. 
We were also treated with a personal Butler who was charming and catered to our ever need, from delicious Jamaican style breakfasts to cocktails and dinner. 
If you are looking or a relaxing stay in a boutique styled small hotel this is it. 

Great relaxing stay!

This was my third visit  to this private boutique property, and each time I go, there are more and more creative and artistic improvements and unique touches.  Although the proprietor , Johanne, is quite selective on her guests, as she is enjoying her peaceful space while preparing the property for a future re-opening.  I  have stayed at the hotel, when fully staffed with restaurant, bar and beach service, and I have also enjoyed the property on an airbnb basis.  I continue to enjoy the property more on each visit. Can't wait for American Airlines direct service to Ocho Rios from Miami.  Thanks for allowing me the opportunity and hope you re-open soon.

Bohemian Hideaway

We feel very sad to be leaving this hidden gem today.   We have been here for the past 5 nights and enjoyed a wonderful time.
We did not want an all inclusive resort or hotel but wanted freedom to explore the amazing Jamaica.    Moxons certainly offered all that we wished for.  It is not really a beach club but a sanctuary of peace and tranquility.
The location is amazing and to have been able to sit on the hotels private pontoon with just the sound of the sea around you, felt like heaven.
We needed to get away on holiday to relax as we had just injured a traumatic 18 months.  We certainly found that Moxons offered us all that we needed.
The staff are friendly and willing to go that extra mile to please it’s guests.  If you need anything, you just need to ask.
Ken makes the most special cocktails and always greats with a lovely smile.   His martini- shaken not stirred - is delicious and as you sip looking out at the sea, James Bond really does spring to mind - magical.
To have found out after our arrival, that Moxons was build by Timothy Moxon (played John Strangways) made it feel even more special - a truly hidden gem and a must for James Bond fans.
Joanna the owner is a truly fascinating lady and with all thanks to her, Moxons lives on.
We have eaten here on 3 of our 5 nights and enjoyed the best food that Jamaica has to offer.
We will be back.

Haven

I booked this beach resort as a change from the all inclusive resorts I usually frequent and boy was I glad I did.  It was a smaller boutique styled hotel with an unassuming front and with only a few rooms some with beach views and others with courtyard views.  I had one with a courtyard view and it was fine.  What was outstanding were the views of the beach and sea from some rooms and for me from their onsite restaurant.  I spent most of my time out of my room and beachside enjoying rafting, snorkeling and swimming from one of two of their piers.  I also spent a lot of time on their piers lounging on their lounge chairs.  It is a short drive from Ian Fleming Airport where I flew into.  I would stay at this beach resort again but next time I would book a room with a beach view.

Unassuming front but Amazing Beach View

We have been coming to Moxons for years. It yas been perfect for us. Small, quiet rustic elegance, great people. The owner has been adding two new seaside rooms over the last couple of years, and we just had the opportunity to stay in one....
Extraordinary addition! Large room, private, wall of glass and balcony overlooking the sea...
Also great ameneties,and an excellent shower!
The restaurant is open to the sea, and generates basic, very good Jamaican cuisine. It is all from scratch, so you wait a while for your meal.
If you want a big all inclusive, this is not for you. If you want a lovely, safe, comfortable stay, right on the sea, with no hustle and bustle, stay here!

Peaceful, beautiful, tranquil, lovely place to stay at,  I will definitely be going back again.  Clean room, nice surroundings and a great owner, very accommodating. A must visit location,  affordable and lovely little resort.  Carry a friend or friends and hangout. 

Moxons beach resort is tranquility 

Our room had everything you'd need.  The AC in the room worked very good, and the shower had the most pressure and hottest water we had experienced in Jamaica.  If you enjoy art decor of South Beach Miami you'll like Moxon. If you're looking for a modern day resort. This is not the place for you. If you enjoy a big panoramic view of the Caribbean, a relaxing, laid back environment, and friendly staff. You will absolutely LOVE Moxon Beach Resort. 

Relaxation, beautiful panoramic views and friendly staff 

I initially booked to stay 6 nights but really didn’t want to leave, so stayed an extra 2 nights. This isn’t your average all inclusive wild beach parties huge impersonal type of establishment. Moxons is approximately a 15 minute drive away from Ocho Rios on the north coast, so very easy to get to. The hotel doesn’t seem like much when you drive up to it, but once you’re inside, you can appreciate the tranquility. I stayed in room 303 and I was immediately transfixed by the view beyond the French doors. I think I took a picture every single day from that terrace. The room was quite large and had a separate reading room as you entered. There were no problems with the shower pressure and I had hot water daily. The room has a fridge and a lockable safe in the wardrobe. Meals are not included but you can easily get a route taxi or public minibus (for less than £1) into Ocho Rios and eat breakfast there or buy something from the local supermarkets. Btw local public transport is not for the faint hearted. I have had many years experience of using them so I’m okay with it. I felt completely safe and peaceful at Moxons and really didn’t want to leave but work beckons. The WiFi in the room wasn’t brilliant but it’s good in the restaurant area. I thought this might be an issue but it actually made me relax more.  The room comes equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, AC and a ceiling fan. You can request an iron & ironing board to be left in your room. I just wish that I could have spent more of my days actually in the hotel just lounging by the sea and relaxing. I might just have to sneak back into Jamaica and not tell the family. 

Heavenly Jamaican Haven....

Very nice small hotel with a fantastic view - the ocean is all around you as you can see in the pictures!
It’s located in a tiny, but growing town close to the Golden Eye Beach. 
The hotel has a private access to the ocean which gives a special VIP vibe without pretending anything. 
Everything is clean and in good shape. 
The staff is well trained and very helping. So is the manager who recommended a good restaurant (evita’s) in Ocho Rios & her driver to me, as I am traveling alone - very helpful! 
The two nights (&days) were very pleasant and if I ever return to Jamaica, this hotel will be booked again!

Wonderful and relaxing hotel with amazing view

Moxons is a beautiful hotel, and the place is well-maintained. It's situated on a cliff, so the view from the balcony is beautiful!!!! 

We stayed here during the Christmas holidays, and although it was at full capacity, it was peaceful and quiet. We stayed in our room for most of our time, as we were exhausted from all the traveling we've been doing. We didn't bother ordering food from the restaurant since the reviews said that it was overprice; we ended up driving into Ochie instead, for dinner. The wifi in the rooms are strong! We had the best connection to youtube (to listen to our 90's/2000's R&B slow jams).

Theres not much of a beach, however, there are swimmable areas beside the docks.

We bought a deal off Gustazos ($11,000 JMD/night for 2 ppl) and we're so happy we did. We definitely recommend this place!
