Mohr’s Herzl Chalet hotel is a family owned and operated establishment, located in Töplitz. Potsdam is at 14kms and Tegel Airport is at 29kms. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The hotel is quite new and built in a Swiss chalet style, offers 12 rooms and has a restaurant. Töplitz has some Swiss history. In the late 17th century several Swiss families settled here as farmers. Töplitz is unimpressive but the surrounding landscape is nice and fine for walking and cycling. The Havel River is at walking distance. Our room was tastefully furnished and decorated and had a good double bed with quality bed-linen. No coffee & tea making facility in the room. The room had a flatscreen TV, wardrobe, a comfort seat, and a separate bathroom with washbasin, toilet, floor heating and a futuristic shower cubicle with build-in radio. Breakfast was very good with amply variety. Windows can be opened but have no mosquito screens. Notwithstanding the many nearby lakes and waterways we were at night not disturbed by mosquitos. Surprisingly the hotel has no Wi-Fi Internet and doesn’t accept credit or debit cards. Mohr’s Herzl Chalet hotel is a nice accommodation but seen its location slightly overpriced. Nonetheless we had a pleasant stay.
