It was a good experience. Staff was very helpful and polite. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Food was good. Overall a good place to stay. Hotel is very near to kalka shimla railway station.Best hotel in kalka pinjore with most kind trusted cooperative staff

It was a wonderful experience......Good hospitality best stay was very pleasant and comfortable...... Breakfast was really good. Would definitely stay again.......... The hotel is finely situated in the middle of the city.

We booked this hotel through MMT for one night on 26 September 2017 on our way to Kalpa tour. I must appreciate the room given to us, the amenities were more than enough. The Front Desk executive was very courteous and helpful and she was very prompt to finish the check-in formalities. The room service was also good and prompt.

This is a good hotel to stay for a night if you are suppose to take the Kalka Shimla toy train .. as the hotel is just 10-15 mins walking distance from the Kalka railway station.. you can avoid the rickshaw if you are ready to walk.. the market also is just 5 mins away from the hotel..

Transit stay for kalka shimla toy train

I have stayed for one night on 14th October 2017, booked through MMT.
My taxiwalla wanted me to stay nearer to station, since my train was early in the morning.I preferred this hotel, since it is not far from the station but it is not located in a congested area.
I ordered for dinner and the service was quick. They also cooked according to my taste.The food was good.
The room was spacious, but it was probably located in the extended portion of the hotel, which was not connected with lift.So I went to 1st floor by lift and then took stairs for the second floor.
The room had a window AC which was noisy. The room boy was not trained, so he gave me a thin sheet which was not adequate. Later I searched and found quilts in the room,took one and used it, The size of the quilt was odd for a king bed.
The check out was smooth but it took time to get the luggage from the room, since everyone was asleep and the person from the reception desk had to go up himself to get the luggage and there was no lift from second floor to first.
Overall it was a mixed experience.

Another hotel clearly suffering post covid.  Staff were lovely - very welcoming and helpful.  
The room was large and overlooked the road.  It was smelly (dank) possibly from lack of airing or lack of air conditioning maintenance.  Carpet was very stained.  Switches sticky and dirty.  Hot water good.  Walls, cupboards, bedside tables all grubby.  Don’t believe pictures on website!  It was fine for the one night we stayed before leaving for Shimla.  Restaurant (only us) - service great, food good and value for money.

Staff great but rooms need investment and cleaning.

We didn't have a good experience here - extremely loud music blasting into our room from a party in the hotel all afternoon and evening. I wouldn't have minded a bit of music, but this really was extremely loud and disturbing. When I spoke to the receptionist, I asked for the music to be turned down and was just told 'not possible'. We also found it very difficult to communicate with staff - it took 4 attempts to order some drinks. On the other hand the room was actually spacious and comfortable (although very loud air conditioning), and the food in the restaurant was nice and good value. But overall not a nice experience here.

Upsetting Experience

This hotel was probably the worst one I stayed in during my 3 week trip to India. Luckily I was only  staying for 1 night before catching the train to Shimla..

Noisy Aircon .. had to switch it off as it was impossible to sleep with it on
Shower and bathroom were dirty .. blind in shower was really dirty and was broken so one could not roll it up
There did not seem to be any other guests. The corridor towards my room had an eerie feel to it
Approximately 10 dirty glasses from one of the other rooms left on the floor outside my room for the duration of my stay.

The food was good but I was the only person in the restaurant for dinner
Breakfast choice was extremely limited and no Western food at all on offer. Chef arrived after the start of breakfast looking like he had just woken up.

Never again …

We arrived with low expectations and the reality was grumpy disinterested staff, bedding with curry and bloodstains,electric sockets hanging out of the wall and revolting shower . 
We only wanted a clean bed and shower before catching the early train to Shimla but the Modi couldn’t deliver. Wish we had stayed in Chandigarh even if it meant a very early start.
