The garden is charming, and the rooms are basic- don't expect very much. The kitchen is very old, there aren't many bathroom/showers considering how many beds/people there are. The cheapest option is the 12-bed dorm that just had a fan and smelled horribly with the number of non-tourists basically living there and lounging around everywhere. There isn't any signage directing you to it from the nearby bigger streets, and a group of guys are always lounging/staring at girls walking to and from the place on the small street it's located. No towels, no safes, no curtains or any privacy in my dorm room from people sitting and chatting right outside the window.

Central but bare basics

A very charming hostel in a great location in Tirana. The airport bus, old bazaar, restaurants and main sights are all within a walkable distance as well as supermarkets and pharmacies.

The best place about staying here is definitely the vibe - it’s a very friendly and respectful hostel with a nice garden outside to chill in. The staff are super welcoming and are able to help with any questions you have. I was made to feel right at home.

The only thing to bear in mind is that the hostel is in an old villa so it does not have swanky amenties. The bathroom is a series of combined toilet/shower cubicles - and I wasn’t able to get hot water.

Wifi is strong and the hostel is clean and secure. Some of the rooms have AC. There weren’t any lockers for bags but my belongings were safe. The beds could be more comfortable - the pillows were quite thin. Each bed has its own plug and light, dorms are a decent size.

Breakfast is provided each morning - a healthy and well-portioned start to the day! There’s also a kitchen for you to prepare/store your own things.

Overall I had a good stay, but would personally look for somewhere more comfortable if in Tirana again.

Perfect hosts, perfect location

Run by three fantastic and helpful sisters, who are also excellent cooks. Very welcoming atmosphere, and an excellent basecamp to arrange your trip through Albania.

A very good address also for 30+ guests not just looking for parties.

Definitely the worse place to spend a night! Everything is old and half broken. Beds are very poor quality, shaky and creaky, with stained old linens. We came very early in the morning and the temperature was same as outside! They changed extra money for heating. NO hot water, toilet and shower in the same cubicle. The owner was very rude and she tried to convince us it was our fault. So we paid like for full day, but that woman said we need to check out at 11 am, even the guy who checked us in said we shouldn't. And she was making excuses that 'this is Albania, we don't have central heating system and we have solar panels, so no hot water after sunset'. But you should warn your guests before you take money from them. Totally no respect to customers! Absolutely NOT recommend!

Very bad experience!

This is one of the nicest places to stay in the centre of Tirana,as the place was comfortable,clean and numerous showers and toilets.
The food provided was vegetarian and an abundance of fruits grew in the garden, which was a great communal area where everyone gathered.
I highly recommend, namaste!

Best welcome to Tirana

Good location- a walking distance from the city center. Staff are very welcoming and helpful - gave good advices and suggestions. Lovely atmosphere. Wonderful foods cooked in the evenings and lovely breakfast buffet set in the mornings. Plenty of choices for vegans/ vegetarians. Clean bedroom and bathroom. Couldn't recommend this place more!

Wonderful hostel

My husband, 3 year old daughter and myself had such a great time in the Milingona hostel that we dragged our feet all the way to the airport. Our daughter could roam freely in the garden, engaging in the secure and luscious garden with all the warm residents. We had all what we needed in the comfort of the colourful hostel and could turn to the attentive staff for advice on Tirana, activities in and outside the capital and restaurant ideas. We even ventured all the way South to the stunning town of Qeparo with one of the owners travel agency. We made this trip an adventure and were not disappointed. We'll definitively go back!

Why leaving this place?!

I have been travelling for more then 20 years now..I must say that the Hostel Milingona was the best hostel ever I have been ever. The stuff and owner of the hostel are amazingly friendly and very warm people. If I go to a new place I just use the hostel to sleep, I have never been inside a hostelto "spend" time in. But in Milingona, I had faboulus time, and actually didnt want to go out. It was really nice place, clean, fresh, with a garden... anything you can ask for such hostel is Milingona has it. Walking distance to anywhere, inside the city centre but once when you are in side the hostel's garden you just feel like you are in a forest with a calm atmosphere.

The most friendly hostel I have ever seen, in my 20 years travelling life!

Wow, what to say about this place?!

Our stay in Tirana really was made special due to the hospitality and kindness of the three sisters that run this wonderful hostel! 

Super-accommodating from the start, the owners and workers went out of their way to meet any requests we had. We were made to feel so welcome, and provided with lots of helpful information on the city and getting around.

The hostel itself is set in a beautiful courtyard near to the city centre but tucked away and so still maintains a peaceful and calm atmosphere.

Could not recommend higher - and especially for the more than reasonable price! Our stay here made our trip to Tirana.

Highlight Of Tirana!

Milingona Hostel is one of the most amazing hostels I have stayed at. As soon as I arrived I felt relaxed and welcomed in the hostel which is like a oasis in the middle of the center of Tirana. The staff welcomed me very warm hearted and I met interesting people sitting in the garden. There are cute cats to cuddle and very good draft beer to drink. In the evening the staff invites you for Rakia and even takes you out! We went to a very good concert together and I felt as if we were old friends who go out together. Breakfast offers different local taste and the staff is helpful with any kind of question. I will definitely stay in Milingona when I'll return to Tirana!
