Mango Creek Resort 

Mango Creek is such a gem. The new owners have an amazing vision for this quiet, secluded eco resort. It's off the grid, you can only get there by boat, and it backs up to a national park. It's so peaceful, so secluded. We spent our days strolling the grounds, admiring the lush foliage, hiking up the hills behind the resort, snorkeling in the waters right off our dock (there was some excellent coral and colorful fish right under our bungalow), kayaking to a nearby island for some truly amazing snorkeling, and enjoying freshly prepared meals at the restaurant. Our stay included 3 meals a day, and Ruby's cooking was uniformly excellent. Will and Sophia were excellent hosts, full of ideas and suggestions, and they joined us every day for happy hour at the restaurant before dinner. I can't remember a more peaceful and relaxing week. Mango Creek is a true eco resort. It's off the grid, and a new solar power system is being installed. The water comes from a spring on the property. And every decision that is made takes into account the preservation of the land and the waters. It is a bit rustic, but that's part of its charm. We had everything we needed, and, if we'd chosen to, we could have booked more extensive adventures—diving, fishing, snorkeling. But we were content to sit on the deck overlooking the ocean, to take a dip when it got too warm, to enjoy snorkeling at nearby Cow and Calf Island (where we saw lots of fish but no other humans), to identify birds in the trees around the property, to watch the sunset and then enjoy a cold beer at the end of the day. This was one of the best vacations of our lives, and we can't thank the team at Mango Creek enough.
