New Mandarin Apart

The Mandarın Garden Apartments ıs a beautıful, tranquıl and safe haven..Its chıllled atmosphere allows for a relaxıng and hıghly enjoyable holıday.. The apartments are basıc but very spacıous and clean..The pool and bar area ıs surrounded by beautıful fruıt trees. The food ıs very good here and reasonably prıced. The bar and waıtıng staff are very attentıve and whıle we were stayıng there Bobby and the staff dıd everythıng they could to ensure we had a great tıme. The apartments are just a fıve mınute walk to the beach and publıc transport ıs avaılable to nearby Bodrum. Thıs was my sıxth tıme goıng to Turkey but my fırst tıme stayıng ın Mandarın Gardens. I wıll defınıtely stay agaın here next year. ıf you decıce to vısıt the Mandarın Gardens make sure to try theır fabulous cocktaıls!!!

I have stayed in Mandarin Garden for many  years and have always found it a perfect place.  I love it.  The accommodation may be basic but all you have to do is ask the management and they will oblige you for clean linen/towels etc.   The surroundings of the pool are delightful, the staff very friendly.  I'm going back again in September for more fun and to meet my old friends.

Charming apartments in a peaceful location, Bitez. Cozy pool area and very friendly staff. Very delicious food in the restaurant!!! I'm very pleased with the good service and really recommend this apartment hotel. Walking distance to the beach and downtown.

We have just come back from a week here through Olympic Holidays which gave a good service, not used them before but would again.  The Apartments were quite nice, we arrived late but there is always someone around reception day or night.  We were taken to our room which was very spacious with 2 bedrooms.  We had to buy Air-Conditoining which was £5 a day where some rooms had it included in their rate. As someone else has mentioned they are not great at changing the towels, we had to leave them in a pile half way through the week with a note on asking for replacements.  They cleaners even had the cheek to leave an envelope asking for a Tip at the end of the week, I gave them a tip.... it said "Don't ask for tips, they will be given when happy with the service"

The bar area was nice and the food we had there was good, all freshly made. The barman, Lochman, (not sure how you spell it) was really friendly.  The pool area was clean and tidy and the kids really enjoyed themselves there. It is about a 10-15 min walk to the beach but it is actually in a good location if you like it quiet, come 11 o'clock it was silent.

May daughter did have £4 taken out of her purse in the room which was left on the side all week was not explained even though we asked the barman he said he would contact the cleaning staff.

We would return but maybe be a bit more vigilant on security.

Nice Place but needs attention

When we arrived at the New Mandarin Apartments although the outside looked reasonable we found that the apartment we were shown hadn't been cleaned. Tea bags were still in the teapot which sits above the electric kettle, the bathroom floor was wringing wet and dirty and the few dishes the apartment supplied were wet and piled on the worktop. I asked the young lady on reception to deal with this and she did, quickly and well and even gave us lovely white towels as none were in the apartment. I had to ask for a bin for the toilet paper and asked for a 2nd saucepan/frying pan but this never arrived although the toilet bin did. We got a really cheap deal through Booking.com and didn't expect anything wonderful. In fact I'd packed rubber gloves and cleaning materials in the car and I'm really glad I did as we really needed it but then we spend little time in the apartments we book anyway so basic is fine. We paid at reception and they asked us to confirm that we were staying just one night but I'd printed out the booking form and they eventually took the correct amount of money for the week although they couldn't take it by Visa which I prefer to use abroad. Having driven a long way we asked at the bar by the pool for 2 beers. They obviously don't stock alcohol as the bottles on the shelves were empty and they had to go to the corner shop for the beer -  which was kind of them, but they charged us double the shop price for them.The catalogue of problems with the apartment is as follows: No further cleaning took place  during our stay, the stairs to our apartment were never cleaned. The bathroom sink had a large piece broken out and glued back in again but  was still leaking so we had to use a butchered water container under it. The shower holder worked but wasn't connected to the wall properly, The bin was supplied without a liner, the toilet was an interesting brown colour at the bend and you couldn't see your reflection in the mirror due to water marks. The door latch didn't work properly and the handle was broken. The only way to close the door was to slam it and then lock it whilst holding it closed. No cover and exposed wires in the light fitting as was also in the hallway. The bedroom was a reasonable size but again not clean, no mosquito net on the window but then there were none anywhere in the apartment, a fair sized wardrobe with just 2 coat hangers, stains on the 2 pillows and a sheet which either hadn't been ironed or hadn't been replaced since the  last rental, 2 stained cellular blankets and a socket hanging out of the wall. There was an elderly air conditioning unit on the wall but like the elderly hair dryer supplied we chose not to use it. The 'plaster' was coming off of the wall in one corner and we couldn't work out whether it was damp or poor materials causing it. The kitchen/lounge was large but again dirty with nut shells left on the floor so it's hardly surprising that we were always afraid to walk in the apartment in bare feet. The 2 sofa beds had cigarette burns and stains on them but looked cleaner than the bedroom so we slept on them during our stay. The glass in the door to the balcony was filthy with smears and marks and the rug had dirty patches although if clean it would have been a nice enough rug. The flat screen TV promised was an old tube type TV and I can't tell you about the satellite channels as we never used it. There was no clothes dryer, pool towels, bins, heating, and we never found the market on site or any a-la-carte restaurant all of which was advertised but to be fair we always had hot water even if the pressure in the shower was extremely low. As for the kitchen! It actually looked ok and when cleaned, functioned reasonably except for the fact that there were no dinner knives and much of the cutlery supplied was plastic and purchased by  other guests from the supermarkets. It had 1 small saucepan, a Turkish coffee pan, a strange copper dish and assorted bits of glass and china, one plate from a local Chinese rest. Once cleaned up the cooker functioned ok although one ring wouldn't turn all the way on. One floor cupboard was empty (no shelves) apart from a huge dead moth and the other had an empty wine bottle in it. One top cupboard hinge needed a screw but when I mentioned it I was told they didn't have the right size. The fridge was dreadful and had never been cleaned. The ice box had no door and was iced up and the main door was unable to be used as all the supports and wires had been broken away. The balcony was a nice size and although the table was dirty and marked, when cleaned up it was reasonable to use. One of the chair backs was broken but there were 6 chairs supplied although some were a bit fragile. During the evening and night the security light on the block opposite which was wrongly aligned shone into our apartment constantly making sleep almost impossible. Coupled with the apartments small white yappy dog, and sometimes also the owner's matching dog,  who barked at the slightest thing (day and night) sleeping wasn't easy. I am aware that whatever I write can effect an owner's trade but people need to know about this owner as my review on the site I booked it through has not been presented correctly and my photographs which I took to support my claims  haven't been published. On the 3rd day of our stay the owner approached my husband telling him that there had been a mistake at Booking.com's end and that we needed to pay him double what we were contracted to pay. I was diving all day so when my husband said he couldn't deal with it the owner said he would be back that evening. He failed to turn up but 2 days later at 10pm he called us over and told us both that we needed to pay more. He said we were in one of the better apartments and he could get more money for the lesser apartments than we were paying for ours. I kept telling him that I had a contract and that his issue was with Booking.com - his agents, not with us and that if I wanted to pay double I would go to other apartments and named 2 locally and their prices, He then dropped his demand/request to a 50% increase whilst appealing to us to 'fix' the problem. The conversation - with the help of a translation app on his phone went on for some time and he only stopped trying to get money out of us when I said I'd think about it. He did say at that time that whether we paid him or not it was ok but this was after days of wondering where he was going with this and what he might do. We felt vaguely threatened by it all and as we both spent all day out of the apartment we wondered whether we would come back one day to find our belongings outside. It really caused us concern and distress. Sadly although the apartment with some TLC could be very nice, the pool looked good and it was near enough to the beach I cannot recommend this place and most certainly won't be going again.
