Domaine De La Rhue

This Guest House is an extraordinary remodel of old stable, located near the Manor. We found the staff (all family members) to be kind, helpful, and excellent English speakers. We arrived at 8:30 pm after more than 30 hours of traveling from California and were disappointed to learn that the restaurant was closed. We explained how long and far we had traveled. The hostess said, "Let me see what I can do." Within minutes we received a platter with cheese, meats, bread and wine! We were so happy. The rooms, mostly located upstairs are modern and include some architectural elements of the original stables. We were very happy with our room. The down stairs, though, is beautiful with the homage to the original stable motif. It serves as a sitting area (a small one is also located upstairs) and dinning area for the guests. The breakfasts were magnificent. Rolls, yorgurt, home-made jams, fruit, juice, coffee, and other delights. I was surprised when the hostess asked if I would like and eggs since there was already so much to choose from? My answer: Oui! Here's a tip: For the past two years (2018 & 2019) during the season (about May through September) a family member and her husband have operated a small restaurant out of the guest house. Called Table de la Rhue, chef Johannes Bekkers prepares wonderful and inventive meals. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we ate there twice. Check it out! The Guest House is in the country, and we enjoyed the quiet. We had previously visited Rocamadour and were not interested in visiting it, 9 kM away. The Guest House offers access to areas east of A20.
