The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are friendly and helpful.  The pool area is nice but I have to say the sister hotel in the Royal Swazi spa was so much better.  We took the free shuttle there and the views are beautiful and such a peaceful setting.  We had a drink by the pool and ate in the chinese restaurant there, it was really nice.  The area surrounding both hotels is beautiful and safe to walk during the day from one hotel to the other.

The rooms are spacious and offer an exhilarating comfort and serenity. The food is excellent although the internet connection in the furthest room is poor that needs to be sorted. The location is excellent and in an accessible place from both directions to the two major cities of Eswatini.

The place has got the most excellent environment by the pool side and offers relaxing views and endemic clam

LOCATION

 

Right next to the Royal Swazi Spa, this is the sister hotel, managed by the same company (SUN). They have frequent shuttle buses between the 2 hotels and the casino at Royal can be visited this way.

 

LOBBY

 

A warm arrival is given with free iced lemon tea drinks next to the reception with glasses in the cabinet.

There is a curio shop African Queen on ground floor selling Eswatini souvenirs.

The elevator is Otis with old style rectangular shape servicing the ground and 3 floors. Considering the age of the hotel, the maintenance is good and one can appreciate the TLC. Well done to management, as the upkeeping of an old hotel is no easy task.

 

SERVICE

 

Housekeeping, reception and security satisfactory.

 

ROOMS

 

Rooms clean, spacious with comfortable beds with the old-world bathroom design of shower over bath. Bathroom amenities use AKRIKINI brand of BESPOKE (Johannesburg) with a cute Africa shaped soap. Only one bar provided. Tea (2 teabags) and coffee with kettle available, however one should wash the kettle first, as there were ants.

 

No fridge. The second room we had only had one teaspoon instead of two and was missing the laundry bag. Use the www code for internet access. Speed satisfactory, although sometimes one may need to re-log in. 

 

There are interconnected rooms for families and room to room dialing must add 4 to front of room number. Even number rooms facing your transport asset, while odd numbered faced the pool and had balconies. The rooms on the ground floor facing the pool are family units with 2 rooms and direct access to the pool.

 

POOL

 

The highlight for the kids was the large beautiful pool with an adjunct kiddie pool. It was shallow and circumscribed by many recliners. On both days, there were many children playing in the pool. 

Depth ranges from 0.44 to 1.4m. 

Pool towels can be borrowed after registering with the clerk and signing on returning.

Did not see any changing rooms.

 

The terrace bar with F&B is nearby offering sandwiches, pizza, seafood ect. Will do another review on pool terrace bar.

 

SUMMARY

 

Family-orientated hotel with pool, kids entertainment centre KAMP KWENA.

For the kids facilities, gave V good rating.

Great place to unwind, relax and recharge!

I will return 

It’s an old hotel but it is substantial. The rooms were clean and big enough for family. The pool experience was pleasant and child friendly. 

We were a walk in but the reception staff treated us like we were pre booked and in under 5 minutes we were well on our way. 

The ambience made me feel like I definitely should have planned a longer stay. 

The country feels very comforting and peaceful 



Road trip 

Pleasant. Overall nice, cozy hotel. Rooms ageing though. Dinner in the pub and breakfast were excellent! Facilities very good and well kept. Wi-fi problematic at times, but eventually one can get your work done.

Business one night stay

Stayed one night as part of a tour and would describe the Lugosi as nondescript. Standard looking hotel with nothing exceptional and nothing horrible. Perhaps getting a little worn around the edges, but certainly ok for a night. Dinner and breakfast buffet again were ok. Need more elevator capacity in the lobby. 

Ok, no more no less

This hotel is in  Swaziland, which although a very poor country,has a far lower crime rate than its bigger neighbour, South Africa.The country actually felt safer, somehow more "decent".
We had a nice room on the third floor with a view over the pool.
The evening buffet meal, and the breakfast both were ample and tasty.
The service was good and pleasant.

Mediterranean style hotel.

Very helpful staff especially at reception. Neat and clean rooms. Breakfast abit slow on Sunday staff didn't seem motivated . Shuttle service to casino was efficient. Good stay and good experience overall.

Lovely stay

We stayed at the hotel from 7th to 9th September 2019. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The lady who booked us in was very friendly and eager to do anything that would make out stay comfortable. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, though the bathroom could be renovated by fitting it with a  new tub, toilet and taps. Breakfast was ample and tasty. We could not have dinner in the main restaurant because they said it was only serving a buffet, and the bar where were directed was not condusive for dinner if you didn't want to have a drink. Otherwise the dinner  in the bar was fine. I would consider returning to the hotel.

Stayed one night with a Cosmos Tour and found my room clean and spacious. Bathroom is dated but functional and toiletries were a nice touch. Hair dryer in draw in chest under TV. Nice view over fabulous swimming pool. Adjacent to a golf course. Mini Golf available.
