I cannot recommend this place enough. The guesthouse is warmly decorated, making you feel at home as well as being extremely welcoming. Mariana (the owner) is lovely and greeted us when we arrived.

We stayed for 2 nights, the rooms suited our every need by providing a kitchenette and small but more than big enough ensuite. The decoration is fabulous, shabby but chic as well as having a vintage twist. The communal area on the ground floor provides guests with all sorts of herbal tea as well as milk and coffee, and biscuits (DVDs and boards games too). I had an amazing time.

As well as all this amazing stuff I cannot praise more I was very happy that the guesthouse was in a perfect location within walking distance from beaches, town centre etc. I will definitely be returning.

This place exceeded my expectations.  We've always rented cottages in St Ives but this year had a shorter break, taking the sleeper train and staying just two nights.  There are 5 of us so we elected for LordRyans as it is good value which made 3 rooms affordable.  I knew from a vague knowledge of the area that it was in a decent location but I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable it was - and the common/dining room with a big selection of coffees, teas, books and board games was an unexpected but lovely touch, particularly when we had a bit of rain.  I'd stay again.

Probably not much point in this review but I booked the B&B during one of the busiest weeks in St Ives, while the festival was on and it was one of the only affordable places working out at £60 a night.  Many places were charging a lot more for similar facilities or so I thought. However I paid for bed only. They were not doing the breakfast bit and when I got there I found out why. The place was closing down the week I arrived after having been going for about 20 years. The people running it were nice when I eventually located them! It was also at the top of the steepest hill in the town and the biggest shock was that if I had booked it direct I could have had the room for less than half the price I paid. However the room was very nice with white painted floorboards and a nautical theme. Got my breakfast at a different place every day which in some ways was also a nice thing to do.Anyway, I hope somebody else takes it over.

Ok but was in process of closing down

Was surprised to turn up at this B and B to find a piece of paper in their front room window stating they had available rooms at £35.00 per night. Internal design was basic, clean and comfortable. Wasnt allowed to access my room till 4pm even though I arrived at St Ives at 9am and had been travelling all night. Felt like a foster home for social services. Coffee machine was broke.  Nice biscuits and tea.  But very over priced for what you get. Shower was a basic dribble. had difficulty locking bathroom door (not good for those with arthritis) Would have been happy to pay £35.00 for one nights stay, but not £65.00.  Disappointing rip off. Oh..and you have to climb a huge hill to get there too.  Lord Ryan I wasn't impressed at all.

Overpriced at £65.00 per night

I was never treated like that by any hotel. I submit my AMEX to pay which was an option available in booking, I did not pay attention this was not allowed. My card did not get through so I put another one which, for some reason I could not explain, did not work either. I received this mail in return: "Nothing is sorted and you are costing me a lot of time and money." Unfortunately that was one of the last affordable rooms in St Yves and I finally put another card that worked. I even offered to do a transfer so that they do not have to pay the fee. I never got an answer. And I noticed last week that they overcharged me by £5 without even telling me.
