When in Recife I chose to stay in a motel following a friend's advice. It is an unusual place to stay because motels in Brazil are meant to be for casual sex. If you check-in after 7pm, the "pernoite" or overnight rate (until 10am) is R$223 For that sum you get a fantastic room, decorated in good taste, extraordinary mattress, beautiful bathroom and more details than any 5-star in Brazil usually make available. The breakfast, included in the price, is abundant and very good. I wasn't able to finish it. Highest marks to the crew as well. Attentive and professional.
