Le Presbytere

We stayed at Le Presbytere for only two nights, I wish it could have been more. The house is beautiful, our room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean and it even had tea and coffee making facilities, always a big plus. It has a cosy lounge to relax in and a large, well kept garden with lots of chairs and tables. Dogs are welcome, which is lovely. And it is amazing value for money, too.
Antoinette and Tom gave us a very warm welcome and provided us with lots of advice about visits, walks and restaurants, so we could make the best out of our limited time.
Breakfast was wonderful too, I especially appreciated the lovingly prepared huge fruit platter which made a great and healthy start to the day.
Next time we will stay for longer!

Just returned from a fabulous second stay with Tom and Antoinette. The house decorated with extremely good taste is everything you could wish for with wonderful hosts who have a vast knowledge of the local area. On arrival Tom and Antoinette are warm and friendly and couldn't be more welcoming. Breakfasts are fabulous and definitely some of the best we have ever had in France. We will definitely be returning to Le Presbytere on our next visit to Northern France.

Just had a 2 night stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Beautiful house, outstanding rooms, and Tom and Antoinette were fabulous hosts. Have us great local information and some great restaurants. Will definitely be coming back. Susan and Andy x

We really enjoyed our stay at the Presbytere in Saint-Bomer les Forges.  Wonderful big house, full of books and photographs, with antique furniture and a great and peaceful atmosphere.  The owners Tom and Toinette are delightful and welcoming (and excellent cooks!).  There were three generations in our party (from 17 to 80) and all of us felt at home and genuinely welcome. We enjoyed everything: sitting in the garden, taking a bike ride, going for a walk along the river with Toinette and the dogs, eating a delicious dinner prepared by Tom (these big-hearted people were born to be hosts!).  The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable, the dining room - the perfect setting for our lavish breakfasts, the sitting room - a great space to play chess or Scrabble, watch TV or have a chat long into the night, and the whole place just a joy!  Will undoubtedly return, in the knowledge that we will be greeted by Tom and Toinette like long-lost friends.

Couldn't find it at midnight as the lights in this small village go out at 11pm. Gave the owners a call and they came out to find me, great service.
The building is an old presbytery and has loads of character, thanks to the owners, with a mix of furniture, old and new, none of which looks out of place.
The building is set in a very large garden with free parking for about 3-4 cars. Breakfast is a continental with various fruit, cereal, yoghurt, bread with jam etc. There is also a bakery/local shop which sells probably anything you might need from food to wine and hand made cakes, personally tried and they were tasty.
The owners speak english and very good french so would suit a number of nationalities. You will be well looked after. A great starting point for house hunters and historical sites. Very good value.
