Le Murier

Stayed for the 2nd time here. It was lovely again in this charming old town, so close to the huge market on tuesday. The room was sober, but very stylish. Very large bathroom, with balcony.
The breakfast was delicious with good local cheeses, great coffee, great sweets (homemade) and fruit with granola.
We’ll come again!!

Our two-day stay at Le Murier was our absolute favorite part of our two week vacation in France. The room in HUGE and beautifully decorated. The view from the terrace is spectacular. The woman who runs the place is extremely friendly and she puts together a killer breakfast. If you don't stay here, you're missing out!

We enjoyed our visit to the enchanting Le Murier.  Situated in the upper historic old town of  Vaison La Romaine we enjoyed the beautiful vistas from our corner spacious room.  Laurence and her husband were gracious hosts, particularly with helping with the transport of our luggage from our parking space a few hundred yards away.  Le Murier is a great value!  On the other hand would love to see them "up" their amenities a bit and we'd gladly pay double for better mattresses, linens, toiletries and breakfast.  In conclusion, for those on a budget Le Murier is a true gem!  Enjoy the old world ambience!

This gem was a true "find"....Tucked away in the old walled city, one can only find it on foot but once you are here- it's a great stay.  Lawrence, our hostess, was accommodating and always greeted us with a welcomed BONJOUR.  The rooms were immaculate, bathrooms spacious and modern, beds very comfortable, and this old Roman outpost was a great grounding spot for our day excursions to wineries, sightseeing, and just Provence at it's best!

My wife and I had a great stay at Le Murier in August. Our room was very spacious and clean and there were beautiful views from every window. Laurence and Michel were wonderful hosts, and Laurence even helped us get a reservation at a popular restaurant at the last minute. We parked our car in the public lot in the town and getting to the house was very easy. We are very happy to have found this place and would definitely stay here again.

You will absolutely LOVE Le Murier!  We traveled with another couple for two weeks and our time in Vaison-la-Romaine and at Le Murier was hands down our favorite.

We parked in a lot near the entrance to the upper city and walked up to the inn.  Laurence walked down to meet us and took us to the inn.  The walk is steep, you should be aware of that, but we are in our early 50's and had no trouble with it.  Laurence asked a neighbor to drive down and pick up our luggage so we didn't have to cart it up the steep path.  Our luggage was also taken down to the car for us on the day we left, so that was no problem at all.

The inn is at the very top of the medieval city and the views are beautiful!  We had breakfast out on a patio both mornings and it was awesome to sit in such beautiful surroundings with delicious food!  I have to eat gluten free and Laurence had homemade gluten free bread for me to have with breakfast each morning, along with yogurt, juice, beautiful breads (for those in the group who could eat gluten), granola, jams and fruit.  

The inn itself is simply lovely.  Both Laurence and her husband are architects and their home definitely reflects their beautiful taste.  It's both beautiful and homey, a great combination!  Our room was huge, not even by European standards, but by American standards!  There was also a huge bathroom which was luxurious..  It also had a small private balcony (room for a small table and a couple of chairs) with a beautiful view of the city down below.  We had some rain one night and it was incredible to watch the storm approaching in the distance with lightening displays before the rain hit.

On top of the beauty of the home and the rooms (our friends also had an amazing room), Laurence and her husband are incredibly gracious and sweet people.  Laurence seems to know more English than her husband but we easily communicated with both and they were so helpful with directions, recommendations for restaurants, etc.  He even wrote out an itinerary for us when we said we'd like to visit some wineries.  He knows the wineries well and it was great to have his input.

I can't think of a single negative thing about this wonderful place.  I'd go back again in a heartbeat!
