Las Palmeras Hotel

Did a days diving with Karina (our dive master) and was really impressed with all aspects.  The boat accommodated two groups easily and all the equipment was in excellent condition, Little Corn has some great dive sites unfortunately blustery conditions meant I couldn't fit any more in.
Karina was quick to respond to my questions via WhatsApp and I would definitely use them again.

J'ai fait mon cours de PADI open water a ce centre de plongée. J'ai adoré mon expérience. Tout d'abord, le prix est très abordable. Ensuite, L'instructeur Bailey a su me mettre en confiance dès le départ. Il a fait preuve de professionnalisme. Je le recommande a tous.

Hi Konrad. I´m sorry that you feel i was rude with you. This was not the case, i was just simply explaining that as a PADI center i would not be able to verify your dives through the SSI app as thats not the way the system works unfortunately. i did also explain that you could still log your dives i just wouldnt be able to verify them, or you could alternatively download the PADI or similar App and log your dives in there which you did, and then when i asked for a stamp for them i explained i dont have a digital stamp and neither does this shop as we are on a very remote island. you seemed happy enough at the time with this solution so i don`t feel that a 1 star review is fair or justifiable. you had 2 nice dives, which were logged properly. and as you can see from all other reviews, customer care and satisfaction is a big part of the service i provide. i hope this finds you well and i hope you reconsider the 1 star.

J'espère que cela vous trouvera bien et j'espère que vous reconsidérerez la 1 étoile.

Very nice dive shop, Bailey and Clara are extremely competent and knowledgeable. We felt very safe with them even if we had some choppy conditions, Bailey knows how to reassure anybody that might be feeling overwhelmed for their first dives. Clara is also very sweet and follows safe procedures all along.
The equipment is in pretty good shape, they have many brand new parts. The only down side is that you have to remember to bring your water since there's none available on the boat. Other than that, the dive spots are pretty good, if not pristine. We saw nurse sharks, sting rays, boxfishes, turtles, spider crabs, lobsters, lion fishes, nice soft corrals and a wide variety of tropical fishes.

Whether for an open water course or just pleasure diving, it's totally worth the rocky ride to get from Big Corn to Little Corn. Last but not least, Ida, one of the owners, is very nice and the food and drinks offered at the resort's bar and restaurant are excellent and generous for the price.

Ida, the owner was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the seafront so you can sit in hammocks listening to and watching the sea all day. 

A 5 minute walk from the dock and 10 to most restaurants, with cheaper ones being slightly further. 

Dive centre on site as well as a restaurant and limited bar. Lots of games and a book exchange. 

Bed was comfy and in a mostly quiet area. Filtered water at the bar also which was a massive bonus as we didn’t have to buy water each day and could use our reusable bottles.

We had a room with aircon which worked brilliantly during the hours there was power. 

A great location to stay on an island paradise. 

Wifi doesn’t reach all rooms, it sometimes connected in our bedroom and at other times couldn’t, however worked well in communal spaces enough to videocall home. It did drop out at times mostly when there were the storms which is to be expected. 

Electricity was off from 6am -1pm which is island wide so don’t expect to have power through the day, and showers were only cold (non heated) which was lonely and refreshing, again not a negative just something to be aware of. 

Quite a few cockrels in the houses around so earplugs can be handy.

I simply felt in love with this beautiful spot on Little Corn with the charming staff (all locals) and the wonderful 2 sisters owner/manager at Las Palmeras. 
In fact, my eyes are humid right now that I'm back home writing these words. 
These lovely people upgraded my trip 200% (no pressure guys ;) )! 

But more formally, why do I recommand Las Palmeras?
- Kind and helpful staff and owners
- Food sooooo good (cheers to the chef)
- A warm, quiet and chill ambiance... feeling at home at the first minute
- Really clean room and bathroom
- Not to small, not too big its a genius landscaping (I'm a landscape architect) with nice different areas: beach, hamacs spot, restaurant, lounge, wood deck with training/yoga space, and a picnic space, outdoor shower, massage area 
- Feeling secure (I was travelling alone)
- Fun activities to do with the staff or not (snorckeling, ride of boat, SUP, beach party...) 
- The neighborhood is the local people... the real thing
- Near the Dock and 'Down Town', but far enough to be quiet

There's a but:

This 'but' is not negative, but more a note for a certain type of travellers. This does not concern Las Palmeras management, but more Little Corn Island in general. Little Corn Island is not a 'Resort all Include' kind and it's perfect like that. Traveling there means that you will see the real lives of the citizen of this island.

The travelers that will enjoy being there will have an open mind, will be 'natural' type, empathic to others and will like that the only way to move around on this island is by foot or rare bicycles. Will understand and feel good with the fact that the electricity is cut between 6am and 1pm. Will be careful to not show his wealth for his security and with respect for the others. Will understand that the amelioration of management of this island due to the increasing of tourist needs to grow and is progressing (You will understand when you will be visiting the island).

I can add that the owner/manager of Las Palmeras are helping in that management. For the tourists AND the citizens.

Last thing, these guys will be stuck with me each year :p

we booked for 2 nites , stayed for 3,  should have stayed longer.  kudos to the managers justin and his wife renee!!  great hosts , not just to us but everyone who they encounter. location is awesome.  5 min walk north of the ferry dock.  Upgrades are in the works, such as on site restaurant and a large deck.  great place to relax down by the waters edge,  would definitely return.  just to note the whole island shuts of the power from 6am to 1pm!!  did not seem to be a problem,  there also is no banking or atms on the island so be sure to bring enough cash with you.

At first I wasn't too happy when we arrived on Little Corn Island after spending 4 days on the beautiful Big Corn Island but the lovely staff and the amazing view changed my attitude quickly. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and decorated well. I can not wait to go back.
