Langkawi Chantique Resort 

Beautiful, quiet, pristine clean hotel with incredible staff who went above and beyond for me. They gave a a luxury experience at a fraction of the luxury prices! I was greeted at the reception by the lovely receptionist Moon ( or Muun?. She welcomed me with a delicious refreshing cold Pandan tea and some sweet snacks. She took me to my room and gave me a tour of the property. My room was impeccably clean, stylishly decorated and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay from cold AC, ceiling fan, cold fridge,coffee, tea, kettle, bath towels, beach towels, shampoo, soap, toothbrush… The property had a lovely pool and you can borrow bicycles for free. They even provided me with mosquitoe repellent as I am bug phobic. Breakfast was included in my room. The first morning it was brought to my room as hotel occupancy was low. I chose my menu the night before. The breakfast was absolutely lovely! The second morning and on, it was a buffet and they had so much variety for different tastes. Although hot food items were mostly geared towards Indians with foods such as Vadas, samosas, salads, spicy potatoes… you can still find western options like sliced cheese, butter, croissants, fruit and my favourite…PEANU BUTTER. I opted for scrambled eggs as there is an egg station you can order from. Aside from that, the hotel has laundry service. One of my pet peeves is stinking hotel pillows. Most hotels don’t wash the pillows, only the pillow covers but I did my smell test and theses pillows smelled so clean! The staff here however, are what made my stay exceptional. They really did go above and beyond for me. Absolutely lovely staff with so much kindness and so respectful. Upon asking questions I found out the owner is Dutch. And from my time in the Netherlands and in Aruba I can say I absolutely love Dutch people And as a Canadian born in France I feel great knowing the owner has the European type high standards that is often lacking in South East Asia. Upon meeting the owner briefly I can also attest that he is also an incredibly nice person but also a person with high standards and it shows through every touch of his gorgeous property! All and all I highly recommend this lovely little place. I know I will be back. To the owner and staff of The Chantique, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of me and giving me such a wonderful memorable stay. PS they have a huge library of wonderful books as well as adorable cats!
