Very Quiet location surrounded by Rainforest, comfortable bed, clean facilities, Amiable and knowledgeable host, nice breakfast. From our balcony we saw Yellow throated Toucans, Cappuchin Monkeys and Iguanas a metre long, handy for trips to Corcovado NationalPark, and easy sightings of Sloths at the nearby Playa Matapalo .

Absolutely beautiful little hotel in the jungle. Perched on a hill surrounded by lush vegetation looking over the ocean - bliss! We had a troupe of howler monkeys around our room, a toucan who messed about in a tree a couple of metres away from us each morning, and whilst brushing my teeth had a great view of a hummingbird going about his business. Great location, but you will need a car. Staff super friendly and helpful. Gorgeous big bed.

This is up there with one of the best places we have ever stayed.
The location was amazing, high in the hills with stunning ocean views, set amid the jungle. 
This felt like more like our home as there was plenty of communal areas to get comfy and appreciate the views , an honesty box for drinks (after a complimentary one each day) and chats with owners willing to point out all the wildlife.
Nothing was too much trouble, this is a must stay is visiting Uvita

Our two night stay at La Uvita Perdida was delightful!! Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to the area. The place is absolutely stunning with ocean views from the common areas, and jungle views on the back deck of our room where we had great wildlife viewing. 

Pablo is an exceptional host who went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. He helped make sure we made it to our early morning excursions on time, even going as far as giving us a last minute ride when we couldn’t find a cab at 6:30 in the morning. We will be back to see Pablo on our next Costa Rican vacation

This is a magical place with a host who is always looking after you.  Pablo who is co owner with his father does simply a great job ensuring all your needs are taken care of.  During the afternoon sunsets he offers a drink of wine or beer, the breakfasts are extremely large and delectable.  Pablo really makes sure you have all the information you need to see the highlights around the area.  I would not hesitate to stay here again!!  I look forward to returning!  Just be ready for a steep drive up the hill to get to this location.  The directions Pablo gives are excellent and he is always helpful on What's App

We had the best stay here during our whole trip in Costa Rica! The rooms are in the middle of the jungle. If you are lucky you can see monkeys from the balcony of the room. Everything was very clean. Room service was every day. The shower has hot water. There are only three rooms in total. So the hosts definitely make sure that you have everything that you need! You can enjoy the breakfast of either typically Costa Rican or Continental with a jungle view too. Both options are super delicious and more than enough to start your day right. It is also served with very good coffee. All recommendations that we got either for restaurants or for activities were amazing. We cannot wait to come back and stay for longer :)

I spent 10 days at this beautiful home away from home over Christmas.  As everyone else has mentioned, the hospitality was warm and welcoming.  I had the honour and pleasure of sharing a family meal with Luis and his two wonderful daughters.  Thank you Elena for everything you did to make my stay so enjoyable.  The sunsets with wine were breathtaking and I will never forget the laughs and fun I had at this amazing slice of paradise.  I have fond memories of laying in the swing overlooking the ocean.  There are other little hideaways you can go to and relax and enjoy the surrounding nature.   Perfection!

We stayed here (in the Butterfly Lodge) for 6 nights and very quickly grew to love the place. I say 'grew to love' because it took a little adjusting to living without some of the things I have come to take for granted: the shower wasn't the most powerful and never really got above warm and there was no TV or Wi-Fi available at the lodge itself. The thing is, within one day I had realised just how little those things matter when you're staying at a place that is literally surrounded by the richness of Costa Rican life; being able to watch a tribe of more than 50 white-faced monkeys pass right by within yards of your balcony, over the space of an hour, is quite an experience; as is sitting in one of the many communal areas after dark, watching the storm clouds flashing over the Pacific ocean as you sip on a complimentary glass of wine in the company of your host. Our host during the 6 nights was Paulo, the son of the property owner. Evening chats with him elevated the stay to more than just a stay; we felt like valued guests at his home, sharing stories of our lives and travels over wine and whatever exotic fruit he'd brought for us to try. He was always looking to help us have the most enjoyable time, whether it be pointing out the best places around the lodge to spot the wildlife (such as a tree that toucans often stopped at to rest), or recommending local sights and experiences. Honestly, by the time we left, TVs and Wi-Fi connections were the furthest things from our minds. All in all, a fantastic 6 nights at a place we will definitely revisit, should we ever return to this beautiful country.

Tips:

Do your homework and make sure you have the right mosquito repellant, otherwise you will suffer. We used Trek 50 (50% DEET) and we didn't get bothered at all but I didn't last 5 minutes without it. 

Go to the Cascada el Pavon waterfall and stop off at the Cabinas y Restaurante Tilapias La Cascada en-route - two beautiful places to explore.

GO WHALE WATCHING! We went once and ended up within 100 metres of a mother and (very playful) calf humpback whale for over 30 minutes, as well as running alongside a pod of 40+ dolphins for over 10 minutes. INCREDIBLE!!! I don't think it matters which company you go with, as they all work together (via radio) to give everyone the best chance, while remaining very respectful of the need not to violate the strict rules about distances and numbers.

If you do need Wi-Fi, you can get it (for free) at the Rancho Remo restaurant, 5 minutes walk from the Lodge.

I would recommend you hire a 4x4 for this area if you really want to see the best of it.

We visited the place in the offseason with three children, according to the friendly host the first time that they had had young guests. We couldn't tell, however - all five of us were very comfortable and felt very welcome. The house is architecturally unique, with lots of nooks and crannies for curling up with a good book or a deck of cards. There is a very peaceful atmosphere, accentuated by stunning views to the Pacific Ocean and the rich wildlife in the immediate forests surrounding the place. The breakfast was served at a very good restaurant a small walk away, which also became a favourite spot for dinner for all age groups.
There are small traditions and things to discover, which shouldn't be given away here. It suffices to say that is a romantic spot with a different ambiance and really should be experienced. We will back some time, for sure.

Our stay in la uvita perdida was definitely the highlight of our tour through Costa Rica.  Luis is a great host and we felt so amazingly warmly welcomed! 
This little paradise was very clean, modern  and all was very nicely furnished. From our room, bathroom or balcony we could directly look into the forest and watch tucans and other animals. The main balcony gives a great view over the beach and the sea. 
We would have loved to stay there.
