My partner and I lived in The Kubu Darma Private Villas owned by husband and wife team Komang and Komang for a year and half during the pandemic February 2020- June2021.
And it was a fantastic experience! 

I can’t say enough how much we loved & appreciated their hospitality and how well managed their villas are. Our villa was always well cared for and kept spotlessly clean, and was extremely well maintained. 
They have 5 beautifully built villas. Three 2 bedroom/2 bath/kitchen and two 1 bedrooms/1 bath/kitchen. All have their own private pool. We stayed in the 2 bed/2 bath villa. 

We feel extremely lucky to have rented from them. We couldn’t have asked for better landlords. They’re honest, conscientious, hardworking and they obviously care very much about their property. 

We highly, highly, highly recommend their villas either for long term or short term stays. They have great reviews on their homestay, which is up the road from their villas. While we never stayed at Kubu Darma Homestay, we’ve met one of their friends from the U.S. that absolutely loves staying with them every time he comes Bali. 

There are also lots of restaurants and cafes near the villa and near their homestay that are easy to walk to. The villas are located in the interior of the village with beautiful rice field and jungle views in Penestanan Kelod. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk to get to a couple of restaurants and a cafe located near the villas. A 15-20 minute walk to get to most of the restaurants like Alchemy, Tygr, Bella, Element, Warung Sami, Bali Hampton, Warung Mendez, Wayan’s Juices, Zest and many more that are clustered on the main road that borders the village. 
Unfortunately there were a lot more restaurants located in the interior of the village, but they have shut down temporarily due to the pandemic. 

We’ll definitely be back to stay at Kubu Darma Villas in a few months, and we hope you’ll make their lovely villas or their homestay your home when you come to Bali!

Wonderful Villas!

I have visited Kubu Darma 6 times. Koming and Komang make this place what it's, I now consider them my adopted family. Rooms are spacious,spotless and they have a bath and shower which most westerners appreciate. I highly recommend this place it never disappoints and is always maintained each year I visit. Scooter higher is available on site and a taxi service to the airport. Lots of places to eat and the centre is a twenty minute walk but has plenty of good affordable restaurants on the main road.Great for families and single travellers.

Best homestay in Ubud

there are good resturants near by, and a 15-20 minute walk takes you to UBUD.
The Best expresso & cappuccino: ARAK coffee house * turn left when going back to the main street,cross 2 minute walk.  ☕️. 
...for meals, if you go out to main street ( jalan penestanan ) turn right..look for:
Sari Bamboo is a wonderful Balinese Style resturant, good,fresh food... on down Mendez is also a favorite, Samy warung is new this year ..and doing well...the Zest on the hill heading toward Ubud...🌿 all good food..
if you head further into the Kubu Darma area...there are several good choices....Masari on the left ( expresso ) and Sole & Mades place just past that on right....good fresh local food ✔️



not only a CLEAN, moderate PRICE,  LOVELY stay.......but a shared cultural experience as well 🌿

I rented a motorbike for 1 week at Kubu Darma. The have good prices, well maintained motorbikes, I just enjoyed it. Even they had to wait for the money because it was my first day, no problem. The couple is very friendly and nice. When I am back to Ubud, I will rent a bike there again.

Excellent service 

Summary of our stay with Koming and Komang: nicest people we met in one month Indonesia! We chose Kubu Darma as our homestay because it has a kitchen and a pool but what we got was a place where we felt home with hosts who treated us like we belong to their family! During our stay we had some health issues and Komang drove us immediatly to the hospital what we really appreciated. Another big plus are the fair prices they have for their taxi service. If we come back to Bali we will come back to Kubu Darma and their lovely hosts.
