Konrads Guesthouse

.....it was centrally located . It was clean warm and dry . I was glad I made the choice . Value for money is SO rare nowadays and Reykjavik can be SCARY expensive . From go to whoa everything was fine . Not hard to find . Get off at STOP 8 from the Airport Shuttle - next to that monstrosity of a church that would make Jesus blush .... I would recommend this establishment to anybody ......

We had two wonderful nights staying at the Konrad's Guesthouse. It's a very cozy house with nice and clean rooms. There is also a well equipped kitchen. The owner are very kind and helpful. And the guesthouse is in the best location to explore Reykjavik. Thank you for the wonderful time, kind regards

The guesthouse is ideally located next to the church and close to restaurants, supermarkets and bus stops (handy for tours departures). Bathrooms are shared but there are enough for everyone, we never had to queue.
There is a kitchen you can use if you want to cook your own meals. 
All the facilities are very clean, even though our bedroom was on the smaller side. 
All in all a good value for money by Reykjavik standards.

Exactly what I expected ....

Nice stay in the center of Reykjavik

Lovely guesthouse in perfect location

Location is excellent, 5 min walk to the centre and right beside Hallgrimskirja (forgive the spelling!). Didn't see the owner at all, room was not particularly clean (bits all over the floor) and was unbearably hot (no thermostat to turn down). Shared bathroom wasn't cleaned while we were there, but it was ok. Expensive for what it was, even for Reykjavik!

Great location, poor room

It was dirty and poorly kept. 
   Gritty floor (despite no shoes policy). 
   Soap scum and mold in all three showers.
   Filthy rag left by the kitchen sink for days. 
   Dirty dishes in cupboard - dishwasher full and no soap to wash.
   A room left unmade up for three days after a guest left.
   Dirty table cloth on kitchen table.
   Dusty window ledges.

Unsafe for a child as there were wall switches without covers (left off after recent painting of walls in the public area).

The so-called 'family' was unseen - only a young boy who turned up once to collect payment for our room (but he was an hour late after arranging the time by email).

This was very expensive for what they offer. There are better choices in the neighborhood.
