Kokanee Springs Golf Resort

We camped at the Resort for a week. We enjoyed Full hookups. The Club House, Driving Range and Restaurant were all within walking Distance. Everything here was peaceful and relaxing and easy going, including Crawford Bay. The Golf course was exceptional, we played it every second day and Loved it. Challenging but sooo enjoyable!

Absolutely a beautiful golf course! It is the best maintained golf course we have seen in a long time.  Very challenging! Nice resort to stay at.  The staff is amazing! Their restaurant should be a five-star! The food is amazing.  We will definitely come back again.

The wife and I spent three nights and played two rounds of golf. 
Nice large deluxe room with two Queen beds a jetted tub and dual sinks. Large patio with table and chairs. Beds were firm but very comfortable. Mini fridge, and coffee maker in the room. Restaurant had very good food with reasonable prices. Service was excellent. The golf course was challenging but very playable and in great shape.

It seemed that a warmer than usual Summer, busy highways and a pesky global pandemic kept us away until September of this year.   Have been golfing here since 1994 but we average only a couple of trips annually now with Cranbrook's numerous golf facilities attracting us more and more.   And I suppose the Border closure abruptly stopped our roaming though the beautiful States of WA and ID.
But we finally made it and found the course conditions the best we have ever seen really, the greens for sure are just perfect and all this was done with a skeleton staff this year.  As many of you know the sand bunkers were upgraded at long last and a new fleet of carts were acquired.  We didn't stay at the Lodge so I can't report if the much needed face lifts were done so my comment are limited to the golf and the Grill.
Breakfast was the usual eggs and bacon and for two with coffee was $36 - if you are a thrifty person you could go across the highway to Red's but we like to enjoy the whole experience and the sounds of happy, excited golfers is quite inspiring.
There were two familiar faces in the grill which was nice and the efficient starter was doing her usual great job and keeping those carts spotless clean.   Also noticed a couple of familiar faces out on the course making things perfect for us.
But I must say that the only disappointment was the pro Shop this year.   Check in with Clerk ID #6 was not the yearly fun and professional experience we are so used to.   Gone are Mike and Dan and this is sad.   No greeting at the door and this chap had his chin down below the counter for most of the time and a casual inquiry from us about how the course had gotten much busier than the three opening months elicited his comment "well I don't care I get paid anyway" and a couple of other things he said kind of put us off.    Perhaps this chap would benefit from a charm school or maybe next year on a mower for attitude adjustment - I certainly don't know but this is a real big change  from many previous years.    So I would say to the GM you really lost a couple of Kokanee ambassadors this year - we don't know what happened but it sure showed.  However, we all have our moments so we just left quickly and had a tremendous golf day so thank you management for all you have done.

We were looking for a place to get away to for a short golf vacation. We have been here before but on this trip we found ourselves asking why don't we come here more often. The golf is fantastic here. My brother who has never been here before can't wait to get back. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo overlooking the golf course. The accomodations were perfect. Its very quiet here which we enjoyed very much. We ate dinner twice in the clubhouse and it was all very good. Great service and very nice people. My wife and I decided to go for a bike ride one afternoon. They are available at the lodge. The tires on the bikes were very low so they told us to go down to the maintenance shop were they could fill them up for us. The GM for the resort ended up filling up our tires and then a wonderful waiter came out of the restaurant with glasses of water for my wife and I. Wow service. Already planning maybe 2 trips next year. Thank You.

The lodge rooms are spacious with a private balcony facing the forest. The food in the clubhouse is casual and good with friendly service. I rated this resort a 5. It is a special beautiful area. This truly is getting away from it all. 

We  have been going to Kokanee Springs for over 15 years and it is our "go to" place for golf! If you're looking for a quiet, tranquil, beautiful golf holiday, this is your place. Accomodation is clean and well cared for, the golf course is absolutely beatufiul and challenging, the restaurant is rustic and the food is always tasty. If you hit the right night, you can get in on one of the many local entertainers playing on the covered deck with lots of room for dancing. We never want to leave there!

Part 2 ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.  The golf course was in great shape, challenging pin placements.  Great weather, can’t complain about about the golf course.   Totally money worth.  We were the first to use the all inclusive, if you love the game, so totally worth it

Our group of 12 has been getting together for 30 years. First time to Kokanee. Great course and conditions, friendly staff and good food. Being able to stay right at the course is a real plus for us. Thanks to all for a great experience. We'll be back.

Staff was very friendly and prompt. Would go again if In the area. Golf course was in great shape, carts are new and reliable, greens were tough to putt on (lots of side hill), grounds crew kept the course groomed, Hotel was clean and quiet, only a short walk from the hotel to the pro shop, prices were reasonable IMO.

Another Memorable Kokanee Experience

If you want to be challenged in your golf game, this is the place for you!We had a upper floor room at the lodge, with a view of Kokanee Glacier. The room was set up nicely, with a mirror and outlets outside the bathroom.  So quiet as you are away from the normal noises of life in the city. The rooms do have a small fridge and a coffee maker but no microwave. The only complaint I have is that the pillows were just too puffy for me.....needed wider shoulders.  There is not much around there. We did drive the short 9 mi to Riondel.  The drive there is beautiful. We went to the market which is very small. But the owner made it worth our while....Maury was SO nice (and he carries an amazing white cheddar!).  Our first dinner we ate at the Woods, a restaurant at the course.  The menu is varied and the price was reasonable. However, for our last dinner, we drove about 10 minutes to Boccalino’s, a Swiss/Italian eatery. We had an exceptional dining experience there. Small but well run with authentic Swiss/Italian food. Highly recommend. 

Unforgiving Golf Haven!

The name made me think of the Banff Springs hotel, and while the setting is nearly as spectacular, Kokanee Springs Resort itself isn’t *that* kind of posh - BUT it is very nice and I would definitely stay there again. 

Highlights: the lodge look and feel, the silence, tranquility, and small thoughtful but practical touches like a small flashlight in the room; the spotless room and delicious crisp sheets; the fresh mountain air from the patio slider.

Observations: the decor is solid and in excellent condition, but feels a little dated. The reception staff could have been a little better prepared (but were bubbly and charming even though it was nearing 10 pm when i checked in). I thought the pillows were all a little too uniform, but one of them worked out very well for me. The mattress was in excellent condition but on the firm side (which I love).

Verdict: After a very long work day it was heavenly to crack open the balcony slider, climb into the crisp bed - without earplugs for a change- and drift off to an excellent sleep (I thought I was at home when I woke up). For me it was a win!

Great Staff! Great Food!

Really neat golf course tucked away on the east side of Kokanee Lake. Really beautiful drive up the east side of Kootenay Lake to get to it, but so worth it. 
I got their around 5pm and was the last golfer out. Got a really good evening rate of $55 for 18 holes and a golf cart. 
Most of the holes were straight forward, but each was challenging to play with fast greens and some scary looking creeks and sand traps. Beautiful mountain views surround the course and they had a neat stay and play package I wish I had known about. 
One of the must do golf courses on the Kootenay golf trail. I teamed it up with playing Balfour across the lake the same day and was glad I did.

Great Golf & a Great Drive

What started out as just a drive to the  course to look around ended up with a tee time. The golf-pro, Mike, was so nice and accommodating making sure we got the best price and was so relaxed about everything. As a learner at golf I came in feeling intimidated but Mike was so flexible about everything it made for a great experience. The course is challenging and beautiful with hidden touches that make it stand out from the rest. Each hole is unique. We will be back as the husband left some strokes out there, lol.
