Amazing experience, have stayed here everytime ive come to Iceland

We booked a triple room with private bathroom and ended up getting one which also had a kitchen with dining table which was very handy. The path to the room was a little slippery in the rain but there were footholds on the sloped part and the room was both warm and dry. We ate at the restaurant because we couldn't face going out again and the food was both good and well priced. The staff were really friendly and advised us on what time to book around a larger booking that they had later.
Breakfast is simple as has been noted in other reviews, but you still get a good amount for your money. I think there's probably a better way to do it with less wastage - we all had bread on our plates but not everyone wanted it so it went to waste.
In all it was a perfectly nice hotel for one night while we travelled on the ring road. It's not a 4 star hotel but it doesn't pretend to be either.

Friendly staff, good rooms for families, and a amazing hike just steps away from the guesthouse itself.

The staff were pleasant and helpful and the room had all the amenities that we needed. It was also great to be able to park close to our room.

Great option for a place to stay if planning to do the Golden circle. Breakfast was great to help get the day started off well and my wife and I managed to catch the northern lights from just outside our room

This is a very basic no frills guesthouse. Bed was not very comfortable. Good shower and hot water. However 5 stars for the best Italian food I’ve had in a very long time!!… probably since Italy. Kjarr Italian Is a walk next door and delicious!!

Very simple, small, clean room had everything we needed! 2 separate communal bathrooms for men and women that were very clean! Breakfast provided in the morning.

Listening to the waterfall, while I fell asleep, was peaceful.

We stayed in a double room with private bathroom. Our room was large and clean. We stayed above the kitchen, so you could hear some door and banging at times, but it was no problem when sleeping with a white noise app. There is no community kitchen, but our building did have a community water kettle and coffee maker. Complimentary breakfast in the morning. Staff is very friendly. We ate a Kjarr every night so unable to comment on the restaurant.

Clean and comfortable for one night

The property is right next to a waterfall. Most amazing!!!Everything was great. I would only suggest two things.The shower was not good, its weirdly elevated and sprayed in my face when I turned it on each time. But staff is friendly, nice enough breakfast and we were on our way. The other thing is please add another mirror in the room so if someone is using the bathroom, we can have an extra mirror to get ready. Thanks

Loaction at the far emd of town. Locating the key was easily done in the keybox. Basic rooms with shared bathroom at the far end of the little town. All was clean. No noise from highway 1. Sounds from the "neighbours" could be slightly heard. General coffee and tea in the hallway. To get water in the boiler was a bit of a challenge since the tab was to low. Breakfast was simple but sufficient with helpful staff.

A very well run guesthouse with lovely staff.Lovely large room with kettle and coffee pod machine in hall(bring own pods) Tea and coffee and creamer in room and a sink.Nice shower room downstairs with good hot shower and two separate loos…….all immaculately clean.Nice view of water from room.Excellent breakfast handed to you in restaurant in the morning. Bread ,cheese, cucumber, apple, pot of porridge and a croissant. Teas and coffee help yourself.Great restaurant on site which opens for food at 5.30pm.Best nights sleep so far. Excellent!

We booked a double room with private bathroom. The hotel and the room were clean,  and quiet. The beds are comfortable, parking is  free onsite. The staff were very friendly. The location is great. There's a waterfall behind the hotel. Just one thing to note but it's not a deal breaker is that the breakfast is very basic (one cup of yugort, one slide of cucumber, slides of bread and cheese as many as you want, small orange juice box and coffee - refill)

Good place to stay

We really enjoyed the ambiance and the service.Often I don’t complete these surveys because you demand over 50 descriptive words. Other than saying it was great, the service wonderful and the ambiance - oneness with nature, I don’t have more I wish to say.The fellow on desk duty he walked us to our room and went inside to make the unit from a double bed to two singles!

Great little stay near farms. Heated bathroom floors. Only issues was that their restaurant wasn't open until the following week which made getting food tricky since the town is so small. The other issue is that the walls between rooms are paper thin and EVERYTHING can be heard so it can get a bit noisy when people are checking in late at night.

The wife and I stayed here for 1 night. The location of the guesthouse is very good, not too far off the route 1. The setting was beautiful with a waterfall running down next to the property. The room was decent with 2 twin beds joined to make it a double bed, the room was clean and tidy. It was an en-suite so, a massive plus on most accommodations in Iceland that offer shared facilities. The service though could be a bit better. We were told by one staff while checking in that the tea/coffee machine by the reception is free for guests to use however in the morning, other staff said we had to pay for it. Which wasn't a massive problem but was disappointing. We didn't take the breakfast option based on the mediocre reviews we had read so can't comment on it. Overall we had a decent stay here and would recommend it as a good option for a lay-over for a day or so.

A decent stay at Klausturhof Guesthouse

We loved our stay at Klausturhof Guesthouse, we decided to book in this town beacuse all other places were either full or too expensive and so glad we did!, the guesthouse is comfy, nice room with breakfast included and the people in charge were very nice, behind the house there´s a small hiking trail we did (recommendation form the guy at reception) that takes all the way up the cliff to the lake above (waterfall included) and it provides beautiful views, the town is small but there's a gas station nearby and a restaurant in town (guesthouse also has one) and the whole place is beautiful. Would stay again
