It's NOT a hostel, it's a very small house, shared space with bars everyone including people from the bars downstars can easily enter the rooms and robbed you, music stops until 3am, I felt completely unsafe all the time, the bathroom walls covered with mold, toilet blocked, I pay $10 and no breakfast, the owner is rude and indifferent, worst experience ever. NOT WORTH IT!!

The most disgusting so called Hostel, please avoid this place!

Kaena hostel is amazing!! We had a fantastic time, clean washrooms, solid kitchen and comment area, and great WiFi! Would 100% recommend. 
Staff are really friendly, gave us a tour of the neighborhood! Good location 👍

Wonderful place

When riding on Ticabus this was a very convenient lodging option, and the host Louis is very helpful with information. Leaving the Tica bus station it's only a five-minute walk to get to Kaena Point. Loius personally showed me around the neighborhood.

The owner is really really nice, he helped us with everything we asked for and gave us water refills and lets us use the 
kitchen of the guesthouse and everything for free!

Super cool place, and lovely people. This was the best spot in Guatemala City we found to stay while overlanding, the hosts were super friendly, and they have a nice restaurant with a great selection of food and drinks. Would recommend to anyone. Close to the airport too!

Bathroom didn't flush, the shower barely worked, my room was not clean when I got there - they were supposed to clean it before I returned at night but didn't. I had to park on the street. I don't think they even changed the sheets of the bed, it was a bad experience.

We loved our stay at KaEna Point hostel. We traveled with our campervan and parked our vehicle safely on the street just outside the hostel. Great showers and toilet facilities. And Axel, the hostal host, is an excellent guy. Super relaxed and easy to talk to. Beers in the reception area offer great opportunities to meet fellow travelers in a fun setting. Recommend!

The manager is extremely accommodating and welcoming! This is a great location in regard to the airport. The room was clean. I look forward to staying again in the future! There was some music playing kind of late, but I didn’t personally mind. I highly recommend!

Great place to stay!

I actually paid tp stay in this hostel for two weeks because I wanted to stay in the city after three months exploring the country andawait my trip back.  I was coerced into writing a good recview for this person on another site and it was because I had gratefully never met him in person.  I spoke with him oin the phone and he was Very nice but when he arrived he began to sexually harass me with questions about my sex life and even so demented as to ask me "how my menstrual flow was"  He is so gross and cloying.  When he realized that I was not ever going to have any interest in him as I told him straight away when he grabbed my hands and kissed it he told me that suddenly I need to change my room to another room after I had stayed there for five days and he said NOTHING and I SPOKE WITH HIM AND HE KNEW WHERE I WAS and suddenly he turned from dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde.  He was nasty and  felt terrified after he touched me sexually without permission so I left and actually was helped by a member of the Catholic clergy and we went to the police together to file a report.  I guess I am used to Europe where you travel and when you pay for a room people are decent.  I have run into way too many sleazy owners in Guatemala and frankly I am relived and joyful to be leaving.  This Axel who is the owner is not a nice person .  The woman who was there was lovely and so was her lovely assistant, her nephew but she disappeared on asaturday and I was left alone in the hostel with him and realized what a monster he is.  He changed the arrangements of my receipt I PAID FOUR DAYS EARLIER FOR THE ROOM I WAS IN AND HIS ONLY GOAL WAS TO MAKE ME AS UNCOMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE this was after I was robbed in the Mercado.  I have travelled alone since I was 19 and I was NEVER robbed violently.  I had a sprained arm and he has no conscience he did not care that my arm was swollen or that I had been robbed and he did not want to make my stay oin his country any beter than the horror it was.  He just wanted to put is hands on me and when he did that .  He is unprofessional and dangerous.  I do not recommend travelling as a sola female traveler here especially of you are attractive.  I do not recommend this place at all.  The only good things in this place were a nice couple and a nice Ducth backpacker I met .Beware I told you so.  It seems some women who stay in hostels are willing to give the owners more than just money or perhaps he is just delusional to think that.  I am very angry that Axel sexually harassed me.  I saw one weird anorexic woman who was chatting with him on whatsapp so I think the boundaries are poorly defined in this place.  Avoid Knowing how odious he is he will probably post a nasty reply if he sees this.  I could care less, I only care about warning other good people like myself from being sexually harassed by him.
Oh and about the rooms:  First the shower will either scald you or be cold and you have to keep the button pushed for it to work.  When you let go of the button 15 seconds later it shuts off so you must continually have one hand slammed against this heavy metal button while you are simulataneously trying to make the water a comfortable temperature-this does not happen until uyou play with it for half an hour, every single woman who arrived there said the same thing in case he tries to invwnt otherwise.  The beds were dangerous they were balancing on plywood and there was a big gaping hole in the first one where there should have been a base.  The mattresses are lumpy and the first bed is only big enough for a Guatermalan as I am 5[7 or 170 cm and it was too small my feet were flush up against the bedborad-literally a plywood board.  The sheets are never changed.  I opbserved two women who came and went in the three days I was there sleeping on the same sheets.  I felt dirty.  I moved my bed because of the hole onto the floor and there were dead mopths and other things, and the garbage was never removed.  The woman was noce but did not clean he is lecherous and probably would clean but you have to risk him handling you.  The only nice thing about this hostile are the trees outside.  And the fact it is near Tica Bus do not be fooled by my coerced review on a fellow booking site.  I was promised with a receipt the room I was in which is a lot better even with the dirty floors and bathroom and plywood frame beds than the other room which is so small people are literally sleeping on top of each other.  I had high hopes for this hostel based on reviews I read and I do not belive them anymore after what I witnessed and how I was harassed and mistreated by Axel. He is a nasty person I am sure he will deny everything in his response because when I went to the police with the priest I toldsd them what he did and then what he said after.  He tried to say MY eyes looked druged when his were red and bloodshot.  I do not drink or do drugs and I am someone who values privacy and quiet and the knowledge thqat a man cannot take advantage of me in my home country without being arrested.  I feel very safe in Europe.  I felt unsafe in this country due primarily to the men. And I love LAtin Amerca just not this particular place. I hope women will help themselves to avoid a dangerous situation by reading my review.
