The best one can say about this hotel is location.  The hotel  itself  is small and in need of a good facelift.  Service  is  not great and rather  ad hoc.  We had to go and look for someone to check us in, when we got to our room there was a dirty wet towel left on the bed that the cleaner forget.  Breakfast was quite nice got exactly what I ordered and delivered fast, but the big problem was once I received  it, that was that, I went looking for a second pot of tea there was no one to ask, everyone was gone. The windows in the dining room  overlooked the sea but unfortunately  the windows were so dirty it was hard to see. At 125ur per room plus 10eu per head for breakfast this is not cheap  in fact it's rather  expensive. The staff seem to be ok but our interaction was limited except with the nigh porter who was rather cross and offensive.  This hotel could be a great little  hotel with a good makeover its location  us fabulous, but as it is it's way too expensive and run down .

Just back from  this hotel today.  Apparently it is closing down next month.  Very dated and expensive for the rooms we had.   Due to it being run down for closure the price should have been reduced.  The staff though were very friendly and helpful.  I would suggest you do not book this hotel.

Very Run Down

Great location! A 10-minute walk into the centre of Malahide and directly opposite to Malahide beach. Great to wake up to and take a walk! Great place to put the head down at the end of the day. Can't really say much else as spent most of my time out and around Malahide.

Door locks don't appear to be the most secure. A slight cause for concern if you have valuable items in your room and there's no safe in rooms either.

Great location on a budget! €€

We stayed for one night, the room was ok and mostly clean. The hotel is very dated and could do with a little refurb. The windows are very thin, we didn't get much sleep due to glasses being emptied right outside our room very late with lots of noise then around 5 am in the morning a lot of noise and rubbish being moved. I don't think it was worth anywhere near what we paid, there is much nicer hotels in the area for less but they were fully booked.  The staff were helpful and friendly. I wouldn't stay here again.

Was ok, not worth the price

Worst place I have ever stayed, staff friendly but that's overshadowed by the upkeep of rooms and hotel. Didn't eat in it because if the rooms are anything to go by, I would hate to see the kitchen. The attached pictures are of the bed side light, sellotape holding the shade together...I had no words, I still don't!! Don't waste your money, it may be cheaper than The Grand but either save up and stay there or drive onto the next town, for your own health sake. Avoid!!!

What an absolute kip!! Save your money and sleep in your car you’d be better off! 
I’m not sure what’s worse the pubes on the floor, the wires hanging out of the wall or the dodgy light switches, or maybe it’s the fact the reception is unmanned and it’s impossible to check in or check out never mind complain about the smell from the bins outside your bedroom window. 
Just do yourself a favour and avoid the place like the plague..which I probably have from staying there.

We stayed our last night in Ireland at the Island View.  It's a bit tired but the people are so nice and the restaurant upstairs is great.  I have to say the Irish stew was actually gross.  (sorry)   The room was a bit old and tired but so are we and it served the purpose.  There was terrible open mic at night and it carried up to the rooms.  Perhaps a bit expensive for what you get.  It's not really walking distance to town but i guess that's my fault for thinking it was.  Not my favourite hotel but it was ok.  The front desk people were great as was the young man in the restaurant buffet.  

Great restaurant, nice people

Our first night in Ireland we spent at Island view and had a relaxing time.  It is close to the airport but far enough from Dublin to ease into Ireland.  It is within the suburbs. 

It is very close to the bay, and a short stroll to the nearby city.  We really enjoyed the warm, welcoming, friendly staff.  They held our luggage and arranged a cab while we finalized our rental car in Swords. Tip: If you are renting a car in Ireland.  Do not pick up or drop off at the airport there is a extra cost.  Take a cab to Swords and rent from there.  After factoring the cab fare both ways it is still less than the extra charge for the airport convenience.  We used Island view as our "base camp."

In addition our first experience of a full Irish breakfast wow it was hearty and filling. We took our time enjoying the bay across the street while feasting on the breakfast.

If you arrive late although Island view's restaurant closes early no worries there are plenty of places nearby or within the city.  
The local pub is iconic and fills up quickly during happy hour.

They have free WiFi.  Old world charm hotel.

We really enjoyed Island View.
