IH Hotels Milano Gioia 

We stayed here for my sons 13th Birthday. We had booked tickets to inter vs bologna game. We flew into Bergamo aiport and got the terravision bus transfer which cost 36 for 2 adults 2 kids (note dont book in advance just walk straight outside of airport and you will see a sign. Buses every 10-30mins. Pay on door. This bus took us the 45 min journey to milan centrale station. We google maps the hotel from here and the walk was approximately 40 mins or could get a 11 euro taxi .Hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Valentina. So kind and helped so much with directions. Our room was small but adequet. Fresh towels and room was cleaned daily. Shower was lovely. Beds 6/10 for comfort however there is nothing like your own bed. We didnt have breakfast although was offered for 15euro per adult 7.50 kids. But to be honest didnt look all that. We did order pizzas one night which were lovely drinks in hotel were 4euro per can. Alcahol- 10/14euro per drink. Top tip for getting around- dont use uber. Use local taxis as quater of the price. We took a taxi into duamo to visit the hard rock cafe and do some shopping. This was 22 euro. Uber charged us 33 euro. Hard rock cafe is overrated and not much choice of food. Food very bland. Staff were really nice though . Cathedral is breathtaking. If you have a fussy eater then dont worry as there is a mcdonalds every few blocks. In Duamo you will find both inter and ac milan shops. From duamo to san siro you can get the number 16 tram all the way which take approxinately 40/1hr.. Or from ih hotel to the purple metro line its a 13 mins walk to the le instra(something like this ) its the last stop. Fyi- san siro is not the stop you need. Its san siro stadium. Easy to navigate around the city using taxis and buses and metro. Be warned at san siro as soon as you exit the turnstyles people offer your kids braceletes for 'gift' then ask you to buy. We was told about this by a lovely local before pulling into the stop. Bergamot airport- staff rude. On arrival as security as we had my daughter who was under 10 they let us skip the queue and go straight to the front. At passport checkpoint they split my family up so my son and husband used the facial recogniser machine and myself and my dsughter had to queue. When my husband asked if we could stay together she said no .Loads of delayed ryan air flights. Our ryan air flight was delayed 3 hours. Ryan air give us a drink we couldnt redeem as all shops were shut. No ryanair staff at the airport either. No updates unless you used the maps. Gates changed 3 times. Safe to say will not fly with them again. I loved this hotel. I wish the location was a little closer to duamo for shopping but its tucked back into the backroads and its quiet. Rooms were lovely. Staff were friendly and attentive , cant ask for more. Thank you.
