We were collected from the station by Rene and taken to the hotel on the outskirts of Velden. We were upgraded to a larger room with efficient Wifi ( important for us as we run a business). Our room was comfortable with a balcony overlooking the lake and distant hills. The hotel was quiet, but all the facilities were available. What immediately strikes you here is the cleanliness of everywhere in this hotel. The spa area was spotless and our room was cleaned daily to a high standard. What also is clear is that the staff like working here...they are cheerful, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We could name all the staff, but even those we did not meet ( the chef) made our stay memorable.Unusually for us we took half board and we were glad we did the food is five star standard. If you like walking then this is a wonderful base on the south side of Lake Wörthersee. Walks are "moderate" in difficulty and well sign posted...wonderful countryside. We did 45 miles in 4 days here...If you go in the summer the lake temperature is 26 degrees (thermals)..We were sorry not to stay longer...Rene took us back to the station...We have had the good fortune to travel the world and this experience for us has been one of the best...
