Hotel Santa Fe

We had an excellent experience in Hotel Santa Fe.  We had a room with two twin beds and a double bed, small kitchen, dining area and a bathroom with a large shower.  There are other smaller rooms in the hotel (we were able to check out the different rooms available).  The workers (in hotel and restaurant) were very helpful and friendly.

We decided to stay there to check another option for hotels in Tepic. The hotel and all facilities look the same as many years ago. We stayed at the room right in front of the street and is quite noisy, the lock of the door didn´t work very good but the rest was OK.

The price of $500 per 2 ppl is fair enough for the city and for what you get. If you are looking a place to take a shower and to rest, this is a very good option. The staff is nice but nothing special on customer service as all the city is.

Make sure to have a breakfast or lunch at the restaurant they have a homemade taste. 

The location is very good for people who like to do exercise at the park or families with children as the famous park "La Loma" is crossing the street.

They had a problem with one of the water pump and they fixed in about 1hr.

Visiting Tepic

Old facilities, fair price and great food

I stayed here 4 weeks while doing my surgery rotation at the hospital across the street. Since I had to wake up very very early I wanted something near the hospital.  Being able to just wake up and walk across the street to the hospital without having to worry about parking or taxis was the ONLY reason I stayed there. 
They say that every room is the same, it isn't. 4 weeks meant 4 rooms. The first room the tv didn't work and I had no place to hang my clothes. The second room had a place to hang my coat, the tv worked & had cable, this room was probably the nicest. The third had working tv, but no place for my coat. The fourth was the same. In ALL the rooms the showers were HORRIBLE, the water trickled out due what seems to be that they have never cleaned off mineral deposits. Also, there were holes in the window screens in all the rooms... Dengue was a real concern to me. 
The staff was okay. When the wifi would go out (which was very often), they wouldn't even bother to check why, they would just say it was working. One male worker (older man with a thick mustache), was straight up rude when I was checking in for the third week. Sorry I made you do work guy, my mistake! 
Prices are decent, for a standard room for 1 person is about 400 pesos, while 2 people is 520 pesos. I didn't see the pricing for the "suites".
Overall, everything functioned at the bare minimum. If you need to stay there, it's fine but if you're going to Tepic for tourism stay somewhere else. 
One more very important thing: BE CAREFUL WITH THE BATHROOM DOORS! I guess the architecture was flawed when it came to installing these and they don't fit properly and you will close the door on your finger and it will hurt. Some doors have obvious splintering that is still easy to miss when closing the door and can injure your digits. BE CAREFUL!
