We were driving from Autun to Nevers when we were involved in a car crash and the car was a write off. We were driven here by the rescue people. Spent two nights. While the room was small the breakfast and diners were superb. Given the reasonable price of the meals - some of the best we have every had in France. An unexpected detour. Yvonne spoke reasonable English and was most helpful. If we are ever that way again we will certainly stay here. 

Could you pls advise how i can make the reservation for the hotel room?

I read many great comments regarding this lovely hotel, the great host and excellent food. However, I cannot find any website for online booking. 

Appreciate if any one of the travellers could share me your advice.

We traveled from Paris to Burgundy to visit a friend who lives there part time. He recommended the Hotel du Parc that was recently taken over by a young couple. 

He made an excellent choice for us. The hotel is a value stay.

The Hotel du Parc is located on the “main” route (D978) about an hour from Nevers where we had rented a car after our train trip from Paris.

Our room was basic and small, but comfortable and quiet with air conditioning, a view of the mountains, television (that had the BBC news station) and excellent wifi. 

The breakfast, where you could squeeze our own fresh orange juice, was very good. We did not eat at the restaurant, but people we spoke to said that it was very enjoyable. 

The owners were very welcoming and nice. 

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Chateau Chinon with the city center a few minutes drive up a hill. 



We arrived in the rain and cold and got a warm welcome. The rooms were quite basic but adequate, clean and comfortable. Unlike the aircon the heating was free and efficient. The highlight of the stay was the food, in the evening we had the fixed menu which was of excellent quality and very reasonable for the standard. The wine was pricey but very good. The restaraunt was very pleasant, decorated and furnished in a contemporary style and would have had a good view if it had not been for the horizontal rain. We would certainly stay here again

A Value Stay

Good value and great food.

On the second night of our first visit to France, Hotel du Parc as our first hotel stay.After a day of driving from our B & B stay in Chablis we arrived to find a modern hotel at a good price. The staff was friendly, and after a nap in our basic, but comfortable room we chose the have dinner in the hotel and were very pleased with the comfortable restaurant and good quality food, with great Floating Island desert. We look forward to our next visit.

Good value and good restaurant.

Very reasonably priced and surprisingly good food. We stayed in Chateau-Chinon on route to elsewhere and had spent the previous night in a delightful and secluded Chambre d'Hotes where we dined with the owner, so anywhere we stayed was going to be something of a 'come-down'. Hotel du Parc offered a simple and clean room with private bathroom for about 50EUR for the night that was air-conditioned. We did not expect too much from dinner, but, both the service and food was very good.
