dirty room with damaged fittings, rude and unhelpful staff. free breakfast involved queuing as if you were at school for over 45 minutes.
Room and Staff where Nice!!
Staff is always nice!!!
So this is my second time there and the this time the room was ok i thought it was clean until i looked under the bed and realized that they never clean under the bed in my room nore did they clean the little fridge that was there!! So I asked for them to clean under the bed with great asurance that they would and the didn’t but being that i was only there two night there so much i cloud do. I wish that they would realy clean both what we can and cant see because the tube was never cleaned as well i brought bleach myself to clean it
Breakfast, good location
The location was perfect! The metro is around the corner, also eat location is around. In walking distance you are at Macy’s, the Empire state building, madison square, Time Square. Just perfect!
The people who worked there behind the desk are terrible! They are rude, not kind and irritated. Like they hate their job! The room is clean, but the mattress was very hard. Also the noise from outside was very loud. Several things in the room are broken.
The location was nice.
My room was dirty. The towels were dirty. Hotel was extremely outdated. Finding a manager is impossible. Security in the hotel was inefficient. Pretty much anybody can walk into the hotel and go to any floor. Pictures on website was very deceiving. Water damage on the ceiling of the hotel room.
The only thing to like about this hotel is the location
Had to wait in line for over 1 hour after driving for 10 hours to find that there wasn’t a room ready 3 hours after the time given for checking in. Booked a double room before going on a cruise for our anniversary and they offered a room with 4 beds that we accepted as we were so tired. It was the most rattiest room we have ever stayed in with sagging mattresses, paint peeling off the ceiling and bath as well as a plug without a cover on it. And more. Discusted overall.
Location was excellent
Certain aspects of the room. It was in bad need of a refurb
Top Lage, Zimmer relativ ruhig, viel Platz im Zimmer, viele Steckdosen
Sehr kleines Bad, Schimmel, Zimmer relativ schmutzig, Spiegel sehr verschmiert
Nothing besides it’s location
Room very old fashioned and tired looking. No wardrobe space. Carpets worn out. Bedsheets and bedding looked like something I keep in my dog basket. I didn’t stay there. I looked at my room and moved hotel immediately.
Place was a dive .Very tired ,dirty ,filthy rotten carpets even the bath was unusable due to cracked and chipping enamel whole place looked like it needed a complete overhaul. The queue to check in took 2hours - absolute joke .The whole hotel everywhere you went stank of marijuana .The only good thing about this hotel is the location - no tea making facilities in room in fact the whole place was more like a Hostel actually I have stayed in much nicer hostels but being charging upmarket hotel prices .Would never go back disgusting place .
Room is dirty, window is so dusty, that someone even drew a male genital part and they never bothered to clean it.
Only location made this hotel attractive
Hotel is very old and as a guest I was worry that room equipments would break by themselves. Room looked like was made in seventies and never repaired. Service was rude, lady in check-in stand was so npleasant, that if I could go out from this hotel I would do it. For everything we had to pay extra! After this extra payment, price for that "luxury" was too high. Never again in that place.
Everything!!! Arrived at 11am got keys to check in after midnight! Insects on the bed In the day leaving, a mouse ran across the room and the hotel said ohh are they back
Waiting hour to check in, no apology from hotel staff Room was not as expected Old looking need of updating Price you are paying expect better value
Location very central. Check-in was made easier by mobile staff located around Reception. We upgraded to the newly refurbished rooms. Very comfortable large bed, clean everywhere, bathroom had everything I needed. Shower was hot. Large room, enough space. Check-out was easy. Good experience and would visit again. Noise outside from sirens, car horns - but everyone would hear this noise in any hotel nearby.
location location location
very tired & dated building, service was very poor at reception, rooms could do with a deep clean
The ONLY thing I like was the location, it was close to many restaurants and shopping centers.
Dirty linen full of blood stains, broken bed, dirty shower, dirty windows, no view, horrible management, room wouldn’t unlock had to go downstairs from 14th floor 3 times to finally get assistance!!! Overall the absolute worst hotel and management I’ve ever experienced. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone!! The price was ridiculous.
The place is ruined, dated, dirty and stunk. Shredded carpets and furniture, filthy walls and windows, holey curtains and a horrible smell in corridors and rooms. We had to move from the room we were assigned, 537, as it was very small, dusty, noisy and the bathroom was all rusty and dingy with a hole in the door that was filled in with tissues. When communicating to the front desk staff the issues and asked if it was possible to move rooms, they just laughed and told me they were going to give me another room but all standard rooms were the same. And if I wanted a better room I had to pay much more. The second room was bigger but dusty everywhere, 822. Under the radiator was filthy with dirt. The bathroom was rusty everywhere. The bath was chipped all over it and the smell of the shower curtain was disgusting. Walls were covered with stains, windows were opaque from dirt, wires under the desk were loose, carpet had stains that if by mistake you step on them, you got stuck. I cannot really describe with words how horrible the place is and how unhelpful the front desk staff is. We had to stay because the room had been prepaid, but never again. I understand I booked a standard room however, these rooms are too far from any standards of cleanness and/or maintenance and should not be sold under any circumstances.
The location was excellent.
The biggest disappointment was value for money. The rooms and the hotel needs renovation. There were other guests also complaining about the room quality. The door latch came on when we closed the door from outside as its bracket was loose. We were given a tour pamphlet to open it our self. No one helped us to open the door and made us feel as if it was our fault and told us if they had to break open the door, it would cost us .... dollars. Unbelievable!
Only thing to like was the location
The hotel was old tired and dirty. Upon arrival i had wait in a queue for 30 minutes along with lots of other people as the check in took so long. And there was no body around to say that there was an express check in service. At this moment i have still NOT received back my $100 deposit when checking in. Apon entering the tired dated looking room, it was clear that the blood stain curtains summed the room up. The desk was facing the wall, the bathroom was dirty. To sum this up, this hotel ruined our stay in New York.
This hotel is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at.
The only thing we liked was the location!!
Everything else was s disappointment. Paying $5 for them to keep your bag for 2 hours before you checked in, the room was a disgrace I wouldn't even take my shoes off and walk on the carpet never mind use the bathroom or sit on the bed. After complaining we were moved to another room which had obviously been refurbished and was clean ! I will never stay here again and never recommend it to any of my friends .
we were going to a concert at Madison Square garden so obviously you can't stay anywhere closer than Hotel Pennsylvania since it's across the street from MSG.
We requested a pullout bed and they couldn't bring it to our room for at least 3 hours which was 1am by then. We called 3 times to check and each time the staff sounded like they were ready to go home. The bathroom looked exactly like public bathroom. If anyone still wants to stay here, ring slippers to use in the bathroom!!! One biggest disappointment is when I paid for two nights on zenhotels for $267 just to check in at the front desk and was told, there were facilities fees that zenhotels did not cover. Those came out to be $115.
We stay at this hotel whenever we go into the city. The location is terrific. Love getting the free continental breakfast and sometimes a free drink.
Nothing grand, but certainly worth the price. Room was clean and staff were always pleasant
Check in lady was abrupt and it felt like she just wanted to get rid of us. No fridge in room Hairs in basin and bath tub from previous guest Rooms need up grading No extra blankets or pillows in room
Location. Infront of Madison Square Garden, close to Penn subway station and shops around the area. A decent walking distance from Time Square. Price is reasonable.
Old interior and not so clean. I've been to old hotels but they are clean but this one is not. Public toilet at the lower level smelled stinky a bit. The carpet are outdated and dirty. Our room is decent but not that clean was well. Under the bed, you can see that they were not cleaned as it was dusty and saw small trash from previous occupiers. There's a lot of improvements this hotel needs.
This was our 3rd stay and we had a complimentary upgrade to the newly refurbished rooms. Breakfast for the entire stay was thrown in along with drink vouchers. Lovely and clean, staff amazing. Would recommend. Location is the best.
Nothing disappointed us. It was truly perfect.
Across the street from Madison Square Garden
The hotel is very old and run down. The sheets are very old as well. They look like they have never been replaced. The shower was gross, paint chips where peeling off the walls. The hotel needs a major renovation.
superb location ,handy to explore in any direction ,uptown, downtown , east or west with subway just metres away & Penn Station opposite . rooms are spacious & clean ,& staff are always helpful . Really good value as a budget type hotel.
Have stayed many times & although the hotel could probably do with a makeover it was not a problem for me .
A little bit old facilities.
Superb location and clearly was a great venue when first built, but it’s looking very tired now, unless you can bag one of the newly refurbished rooms which they will allow you to upgrade too at check in for another $100 a night! The receptionists could be more friendly, but the security and cleaners were great. In balance, not bad value for such a convenient location.
The extra charge for the ‘services/facilities’ that you won’t use. The gym for example is not even located in the hotel, it’s a block away! $35 per day wether you use it or not. This had to be paid before they would release the room key. You also get charged local taxes at this point too which bumps up the price! Rooms were clean but had very dated decor and fittings. People were also smoking in certain rooms so the smell naturally carried throughout.
location was great
hotel room was filthy and no way I would have even put my dog in it, don't know why all hotel rooms aren't updated and cleaned properly
Location - within walking distance of many tourist attractions and great transport links. After change of room was undertaken all was fine. Price and location suit short term stay and easy access to most of NY. Reception staff very efficient and helpful. Conscierge very efficient, helpful and knowledgable.
Room given initiallly was not up to scratch - very old, tired and in dire need of updating, cleaning and replacement of bathroom facilities. Did ask to get moved and did eventually happen (after a few visits to Manager). New room was clean, adequate and appropriate to price charged.
Location was great
Decor needs updating, room could have been cleaner dust every where and things left on floor from other guests.
Bathroom door lock not working. Corrider carpets are terribly bad. No coffee machine in room. prices for the room is not worth it.
