Thirty times we drove next to Skopje on the highway, but we first visited it. An interesting experience. Really in the old city center. There are only 6 rooms. Air conditioners work well. Cheap.

The city itself is a contradiction. Busting buildings, beggars, dirt on the street. The new city center is a tasteless neo-neoclassical nightmare. There's a stream they're making a river. There is a chic footbridge every 100 meters on this "river". These leads to tympanum palaces. Bronze statues on the railing every 5 meters. Lamps that shame St.Petersburg. Alexander the Great has so many monuments that it is incomprehensible and who has done something for local history, has one or more huge equestrian statue.
The "Hotel" seemed not to be finished, but it had started to deteriorate. Cracked plasterboard, outbreak lightning rod. Cheap.

It may have seen more beautiful days, but not sure

The hotel is located in a great position right in the Old Bazaar, all the main attractions of the city are at walking distance. Said that, this is the only positive thing about this hotel.
When we arrived, the receptionist was sleeping like a rock on the couch at the reception, we had to knock on the door several times to wake him up. He told us our room was not ready yet, however, it was then ready after 30 min max. The room is small and dirty, there were stains on the carpets (might as well just remove the carpets? if you want your rooms to have carpet at least keep them clean) stains on the walls, someone killed an insect on the wall and the dead insect was still there. The bed sheets: there was a stain on one of them too, and both the pillow and the blanket didn't smell like they were clean, had a really hard time sleeping in that bed not being entirely sure it was clean. There was a pair of man shoes in the closet, the tv was gone, the wi-fi was ridiculously slow and signal weak, lamps were not working (one was completely broken). One more point is the prayers from the mosque nearby at 5 AM, expected ofc, but not this loud. Additionally, we had a hard time getting a receipt for our payment, even though this should be something normal for an hotel, also..you can't pay by card. Overall, a terrible stay, I would never recommend this to anyone, pay a bit more money and stay in a clean hotel.

dirty and unprofessional

The location of this hotel is ideal, being as it is right at the head of the Old Bazaar. One drawback is that it is right next to one mosque, another close by, and the biggest mosque in Skopje isn't far away either...........so, unless you don't mind being woken up in the early hours.........it's beautiful to listen to the muezzin calling the prayers, but just for the first couple of times unless you are a muslim!

However, this little hotel is great - clean, functional and ideally placed to get into the bazaar and on into the centre of Skopje, about 10 minutes walk. 

We would go back.

Right at the heart of the Old Bazaar

Cheap hotel, small room not very clean. TV didn't work. The staff was not helpful at all. For the check out there was nobody at the reception, the guy was sleeping in one of the bedrooms. 
However, the location is great in the middle of ancient quarter. 

What you pay is what you get

I booked through booking.com where they say the reception works 24 hours, they speak several languages, there is a bar, room service, a minibar in the room...lies all of them. The place is a dump. Dirty, sheets not changed, lamps not working, finally i got two new bulbs but one was still not working, very unfriendly staff, i had to quarrel to get my registration card, i was even told very rudly that this was not their problem! It is a duty of the hotel to register guests to the police and return the paper you have to show when you leave macedonia! I left the room at 0830 and in the dump they called reception there was a guy sleeping on the ruined dirty couch...i didnt leave the keys, so nobody cleaned the room i was told they dont clean the room if one doesnt leave the keys at reception...The room on the second floor is dampy, bathroom smells, no water pressure, cracks on the wall, dirty walls, smell of cigarettes and smoke...dirty carpets...the worst thing is that the sheets are smelly. Stay absolutely away from this dump! Ok, it is cheap, but spend a few more euros and make yourself a favour book somewhere else!
