Did not visit at period stated but no option to change year. Stayed here around forty five years ago and booked for two weeks but had to check out early as it was too near the Mosque and didn't exactly promote a good nights sleep. Clean and polite at that time and would have stayed full term but for the noise as it's ideally placed for to experience the real Tunisia.

Not recommended for a good sleep

Guys - we have to say this was one of the best budget friendly hotels we stayed in Tunisia. Not only was it in a superb location, in the actual medina itself, it a part of ancient history. Who else has ever had a chance to stay in a Palace before? 

Our room was spacious and bright - very clean. It was located on a higher floor and you had to walk through different staircases to get there. It was a labrynth of wonder. We didn't mind the detour, it was just apart of the experience. Our floor was quiet and we slept well every night and so did our son. 

We came at low season when it was cool so no need for AC. The tv had some working channels, I think 2 in English. The maid was excellent, clean and thorough and friendly with us. Breakfast was appreciated although it was very sweet. We enjoyed the hard boiled eggs. Us backpackers are grateful for any free food.

For $20 a night, it was a steal. We were often gone in the day and returned at night and because our hotel was centrally located, we felt safe to walk to it. There is a man at the desk that locks the main door so you have to use the door knocker for him to open. He is usually friendly and whenever we needed assistance, he was always available to help. Love this place.

Super hotel in the heart of the medina

Room was big, breakfast good, water was hot, staff friendly, very good location just inside the Medina, only problem was the bed mattress was uncomfortable

I chose this Hotel for it's perfect location, in the heart of the old Medina in Sousse, also as I wanted my travel companion to experience the old area. 
However, unfortunately she could not come through illness so I was moved in to a room for 1 person. 
That was fine for me, however, it was very far back in the Hotel and unfortunately a group of noisy young locals were staying there for 2 nights. The 1st night of 4, they were very loud with shouting, loud music and slamming doors. 
The telephone in my room wasn't working so couldn't call to complain. I did complain the next morning and I was promised that they had been told not to disturb other guests the next night. It worked. 
My room was small, but comfortable double bed, separate bathroom with shower, sink and toiletries. Only thing was that it was very cold weather and the small radiator in the room was barely warm. Breakfast was ok with a choice of cold plate foods with croissants, cheese, yoghurt, bread and hot drinks. 
Very basic, but cheap and polite staff. Only problem was that if you return late, you have to bang on the main door to be let in.

Cheap and cheerful

Good hotel in a very good area. Close to shops and restaurants.  There is a restaurant attached to the hotel and it was a fabulous place to eat with an excellent service and food. Highly recommended to dine there

Great place to stay

It was a very bad experience for both of us, as young couple! Dirt everywhere, scratchy walls with saletrom flakes, plastic cans all over the garden, oceanic waste on the beach at noon. the breakfast were not bad.

Perfectly nice hotel in the Medina.  It has everything you would need and was comfortable enough. We paid about $35.00. It does not have an elevator and the air conditioning can be operated only in the months of July and August. The location was very convenient. It is  ten minute walk to the very good Sousse museum .

Good hotel in Convininent Location

Unless you are a beach resort person, this is a perfect place to stay in Sousse. It is just inside the medina and right next to the great mosque so it is very easy to find and an ideal location for seeing all the sights you are there to see. There are a ton of restaurants nearby (inside the medina and just outside). It is a 10 minute walk from the train station. The room was fine: comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. The wifi was adequate. The price was good.  It is not a beautiful hotel, but it ticks all the other boxes. Recommended.

Perfect Location

PLUS: Great location and good value for the money, the hotel is inside the Medina, even with a very little space, staff could manage to find 2 parking spots for our cars, if you want to stay in the heart of the Medina for a very good price with a fair breakfast included this is the place.
MINUS: payment with cash only, just 2 towels in a triple bedroom

Good value for the money and great location

Right in Medina, close to the harbor, Ribat, Museum. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, good value for the money!
