Landgasthof Gschwendtner

My wife and I spent 3 nights in Landgasthof Gschwendtner. We were assigned a room on the 2nd floor (1st in German) which looked over the roof of part of the building, not much of a view. We requested a change and were graciously given a corner room on the 3rd (2nd) floor. There is an elevator. The room was spacious and super clean, with a desk for doing work. The only thing lacking was an easy chair for relaxing, but I noticed in passing other rooms that some had a couch or easy chair. Our windows had screens, which we greatly appreciated (but not the skylight). The location of this Gasthof is in a small village near Allershausen. As such it is very quiet, yet it is also within walking distance of Allershausen for a choice of restaurants. Bring a flashlight if walking in the dark. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate, but not exceptional. There was one kind of sliced cheese and several kinds of meat offered, in addition to individually packaged cheese and wurst. There were several kinds of rolls, but no other breads. There were also yogurts, juice, cereals and fruit. The breakfast sitting area was bright and attractive. We did not have other meals here, but the sitting area looked traditional and attractive. My review reflects that this is a Gasthof, not a five star hotel, and as such I recommend it. It is a good value.
