Hotel Gran Baita - Folgarida

Wasn't sure what to expect with a lack of reviews over the last few years but this place was a fantastic base for a school trip. We took 53 kids and 8 staff members and all were accommodated superbly. The staff are outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they catered to our every need, including what time we wanted meals, packed lunches for our journey home, change of rooms when needed and any maintenance issues. The hotel is dated but everything worked, was spotlessly clean and couldn't be faulted. Showers were powerful and warm. The food was fine despite most of the students not eating much. You ordered your evening meals the night before. Plenty of pasta and meats. There was always a selection of cold vegetables, breads and garlic bread every night. We also ordered pizza in one night which they allowed us to put out in the dining room. A potential issue is that some of the power sockets didn't take EU plug adaptors. Some did. We found that roughly one out of three did. It was a three pronged all in a line style that was needed. The bar / lounge made for a great evening base with separate rooms for workshops, quizzes, games or lectures. The walk to the ski lift and local shops was roughly 10 minutes up the hill. We went towards the end of the ski season so the hotel was empty apart from us which was a huge benefit. The resort was relatively quiet, with a couple of other schools staying in neighbouring hotels. Would 100% use this hotel again. Shout out to all the staff who worked that week. Especially Davide who sorted us out in the evenings and enjoyed meeting and chatting to us all.
