Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. We had a family room with a twin room and double room. Thoughtfully decorated with local artefacts, most comfortable mattresses (better than many expensive hotels) and plentiful large towels. Breakfast is delicious (the doughtnuts and jam…)

Beautiful hotel in superb location

Hotel Gyrokastra is one of the hotel in which, when you arrive, you immediately regret not staying longer. Location is perfect, just a few minutes from the old city centre, and the hotel in itself is an old house typical of the city. Rooms are very spacious, quiet and so well decorated, that you almost feel like sleeping in a museum. The added bonus for those visiting in summer is the pool which you will immensely enjoy after a day of walking and climbing up in the city.

Simply amazing

Fantastic hotel, cannot recommend enough. We had a spacious suite for a family of 4 with historical features and beautiful decor. Great location for visiting castle and bazar. It had a lovely small pool which is a new addition and pretty gardens and terraces. Owners couldnt have been more helpful and arranged a minibus for our onward journey. They also provide a lovely breakfast. 

Great place to stay

A really delightful  hotel in a great location near the bazaar and castle. Beautiful, clean and interesting rooms with very comfortable beds and a great little pool which was an unexpected bonus. Lovely breakfast and very helpful owners who assisted with our onward journey and in tracking down my daughters camera which she left in a restaurant. 

Beautiful little hotel in a super location 

A nightmare. Impossible accessibility (you have to climb up two very steep flights of stairs carrying your luggage with no help). If you are disabled, don't even try!! Rooms like matchboxes with no place to put your suitcases or even move around. Tiny restaurant with only two waiters. Very poor service.

Awful.

Hotel Gjirokastra is one of the most special places I've ever stayed. The staff goes above and beyond constantly - they are not only attentive, but warm and friendly and proud of what they do. The location is ideal with great views all around and within walking distance to everything. I've told all travelers I've met since to put this hotel on their short list for a comfortable, super pleasant stay.

Perfect!

Brilliant location with great views from the balcony. Everything you want to see is within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious and with generous portions. Staff is VERY attentive and friendly. If you stay here, you will feel like royalty.

Lovely Hotel with Fantastic Service!

A gem of a hotel in Gjirokaster. This hotel is set conveniently located above the old city. The rooms are very clean and quite large. Decor is done in a vintage style which gives a lot of character. The family that runs this hotel is so sweet and helpful. The main highlight of the hotel was the breakfast. They hand made even the jam and the fried dough. So delicious! Price was excellent value for the quality.
Of note, if driving, please do not follow Google maps. The directions took us up a VERY steep and narrow street, where our car got stuck. The hotel is aware of Google maps giving incorrect instructions. Please reach out to hotel if driving to get correct directions to avoid narrow roads (there is a main road that goes to the hotel). There is ample parking outside of the hotel.

A great family run hotel

Best hotel in Gjirokastra.the family that run the hotel help us with the luggage because the road was block for construction.Qazim the owner was very kind and helpful.The rooms and larg and very comfortable.They offerd us breakfast the time we woke up even that it was latter then the time of breakfast for the hotel

First time in Gjirokastra city

Great location, just below the castle and above the bazar, centrally located in old Gjirokaster, in a renovated Otthoman house. The inn is close to the top of the hill, you’ll need to climb up cobblestone little alleys to get there. The room was nice yet quite basic, breakfast just the same- not bad, just nothing to right home about.
