We had the most amazing start at the Universal. The best thing about the stay were the staff who we so accommodating and friendly. They really did go the extra mile to accommodate my mum who is disabled with mobility issue. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we really were made to feel special. Big shout out to Cheryl and Gonzalo on the bar and evening service, and Jason and Anargyros in the restaurant, as their service was fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffet which kept us going all day. The roof terrace and bar were great for a pre- dinner drink and sunset view, as we very lucky or have fine and warm weather even at the end of October. The hotel is on a very busy road so the noise is audible if you are a light sleeper as I am. I took my earplugs so not a problem for me and my daughter was not disturbed at all. The bedrooms are spacious and although a little tired, the facilities are adequate and the beds very comfortable. The location near the port was great for getting around and although a more multi-cultural part of the city and a little run down in areas we did not find it unsafe and certainly wouldn’t put us off staying here again. We’d definitely recommend and we would 100% return to stay again when we return to Barcelona.
