We stayed there for 7 nights and definately we can recommend this hotel. The upper room had a marvelous view of the sea and the Laginha Beach/bay. The owner was very kind and helpful. The room was cleaned every day. Only about 200 metres from the hotel there was a small supermarket with milk, fruit, bread and everything else you need. If you walk 600 metres further down you come to the Laginha Beach.

Great view.

We chose this hotel/B&B having read the reports and were initially disappointed, however, the rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the showers warm.
we booked through Booking.com and thought we had Breakfast included, we were wrong.
Hotel is towards the top of a steep hill in a downmarket part of the town. The owner, a very helpful Frenchman, tells everyone, reinforced by signs in the rooms, that they should keep windows locked and doors locked as there have clearly been break-ins in the past.
The rooms are good value for money although the breakfast is not at CVE500 per person. It is, however, convenient. Probably not appropriate for a meal, with better restaurants in Mindelo.
The rooms are spread across 3 floors from the road front entrance, 3? downstairs/below ground level and we had one of the upstairs rooms with a double bed and good window view. This view of the "beach" and sea is great although buildings being developed in front of the hotel will obscure this view,this room I would recommend. The downstairs room that we had for the return had no outside window and was a bit claustrophobic.
The wifi works OK but signal does not extend to the rooms.
There are several reviews saying that it is poor as a hotel but you get what you pay for and at this price you have to understand your expectations. It was good for overnight stay in Mindelo before and after taking the Ferry to/from Santo Antao.

Good value for not much money

The pictures don't match,  tgey are old pics and you will not find it loke it was before.
It's not a Hotel it's a Residencial with no stars.
The Wifi doesn't work on the rooms only in the lobby that works as restaurant at the same time....
The food here is not optional so you have to eat what they cook for the day for 12€ drinks not included.....expensive because you can go to the beach and eat cheaper.
And its not on the beach it's in a residencial area and you have to walk down the hill to the beach area.

Not the best choice

We stayed for two nights at this hotel before taking the ferry to Santo Antao. The owners were very welcoming and helpful with directions and advice. The room was spacious and relaxing and the breakfast room has a great view.

Lovely hotel with great views

Good value for money. Very friendly family ran guesthouse. Highly recommend :)
We came with our little daughter and extended our stay a few more days because we felt so comfortable with the hosting of this very nice family....
