I first stayed at Hostal Charito about four years ago when I was walking/in search of a place to stay. Iliana and her family made me feel like part of their family, and now it is my first choice when I need to 'overnight' in Mindo. The upstairs has an informal sitting area, where sometimes local friends and I can have a quiet visit, or I sit there to catch up on internet... My only 'complaint' is not a complaint, but it is my loss that Hostal Charito has become quite popular; there are times when they say, "Sorry, we are full..." Good for them, but not so good for me! It's rewarding to see a family-owned business slowly grow and become successful, and Iliana and her beautiful family have created a 'home away from home' - especially for repeat guests like me!
