Homey Guesthouse Bintulu

We were skeptical of staying here after reading reviews online, but we needed somewhere cheap so went ahead with the booking! At 38RM/night with AC and breakfast it's a great deal! The Guesthouse is hard to find, the location on Google maps was wrong, as was the one on Agoda! It's located over the road from the long distance bus terminal, and if you read the address you'll be able to find your way. The Guesthouse offers a discount for long term stays (690RM for one month (I think!)) and from what we could gather a lot of the guests are staying here on a monthly basis. The rooms themselves are small, and the walls are thin, but the guesthouse does remain quiet and we had some good night's sleep here! Breakfast is similar to many in Malaysia - simple with toast and spread, but at the price it really is a bonus! There's also a common kitchen (didn't see any hobs, but there was a water dispenser for hot and cold water so you can easily make some noodles). Best of all, there is a huge and welcoming common Living Room with big sofas, tables and a TV. We were catching a night bus the night that we checked out and they let us sit in the common room all day with our bags (very much needed as I was ill!) Loads of food places around and walking distance to the bus station so you can get the local bus to explore Bintulu itself. Overall, a great place, and as the name suggests a homely one too!
